Sea Chest is a great seafood restaurant on Moonstone Beach, a locals favorite! No reservations. Must be there at about 5 to get in on the first seating. Otherwise, you get on the wait list and can sit at the little waiting bar inside or by the fire outside until you are called. The best seat is at the bar. Here you watch the food being made right in front of you and its a good show. CASH ONLY! They do have an ATM.

Chef and Owner Dave has teamed up with one of the most renowned wine makers in the region and together they are making some exceptional wines. He sells them right here in the restaurant alongside all of the best wines from the area and beyond.
My personal favorite Cambria Restaurant. (The Sea Chest is also my favorite :) American and Asian fusion cuisine. Exquisite food served indoors or on a wood patio and also at tables set within their back garden. Charming setting, great food. Best Salmon Bisque on the Central Coast!

Linn's is a family run restaurant with rich history. It feels a little like a country diner, but the food and service are on a high level. The Linn's run a farm up Santa Rosa creek Road that is where they source much of their produce etc. Their bakery is to die for. They have been a local favorite for indoor dining and also for catering services for a long long time. We have an Event Venue Barn on property and when Linn's is the chosen caterer for the event, I can feel confident that everything is going to be on-point!

This is where you get your groceries!!! Fantastic organic market walking distance (or short drive) from the Cottage at Fog's End. When I am in town, this is a daily stop for me for fresh organic produce and groceries. They also have a deli in the back with fantastic items for breakfast, lunch or dinner on the go... It's a small town so be aware that they close at 8:00PM.

When I am in town, this is a daily stop for me for fresh organic produce and groceries. They also have a deli in the back with fantastic items for breakfast, lunch or dinner on the go... It's a small town so be aware that they close at 8:00PM.
This is a little more conventional Grocery Store than the Soto's True Earth Market. It is further than Soto's, but if you cannot find it at Soto's, you are likely able to find it here at Cookie Crock.

The local Cambria Farmers Market is on Fridays from 2:30pm to 5:00pm. There is a little of everything you'd expect from a farmers market, fresh local produce, artisan breads, honey, flowers etc, as well as great BBQ tri-tip, chicken and ribs! Located at the Vet's Hall Parking lot at the corner of Main Street and Cambria Street.

Just a short bike ride or drive from Fog's End up a really pretty country road is Stolo Vineyards and Winery. Great wines and indoor and outdoor tastings. Outdoor music on the lawn during summer months.

Reservations highly recommended as this is no secret spot anymore. They have Charcuterie and snacks for purchase there, as well as a gourmet food truck on weekends. Monday through Thursday they allow outside food which is great. So you can run by Soto's True Earth Market and head to Hearst Ranch Winery and picnic seaside while wine tasting. I am personally a member here and always look forward to bringing guests here. Let them know that Guy from Fog's End in Cambria sent you! The Elephant Seals viewing area and also Piedras Blancas Lighthouse is nearby too!

A 2 mile trail out to the ocean, through a gently sloped and gorgeous valley. NO DOGS so there tends to be more birds and wildlife to see. 4 miles roundtrip, this is one of my go-to's.

Sightseeing
Massive Elephant Seals make this beach their home at different times of the year. Different aged seals at different times of the year haul out here to rest, molt, fight for mating rights, etc. These are enormous animals that you can view close up and the surrounding coastal scenery is fantastic as well!

If you don't know about Hearst Castle, you need to! This historic sight was founded and built by Publishing Mogul William Randolph Hearst and is quite a sight to see. During it's hay day, it was a constant stream of visitors of who's who Hollywood celebrities, politicians etc. Now you can watch a short IMAX movie about the history, board a short shuttle up the hill and enjoy several different tour options.
Important: Tours were closed for Covid so call and make sure they are running again.

750 Hearst Castle RoadIf you don't know about Hearst Castle, you need to! This historic sight was founded and built by Publishing Mogul William Randolph Hearst and is quite a sight to see. During it's hay day, it was a constant stream of visitors of who's who Hollywood celebrities, politicians etc. Now you can watch a short IMAX movie about the history, board a short shuttle up the hill and enjoy several different tour options.
Important: Tours were closed for Covid so call and make sure they are running again.
