Now listen, BBQ is a very serious subject here in KC. So let me start by saying that this is just the opinion of one humble person and his taste buds. That said...... JACK STACK IS THE BEST BBQ JOINT IN KC BAR NONE! There, i said it... and i meant it. I mean, this place has it all. Dimly lit atmosphere greets your eyes while the smell of pit roasted and grill fired KC BBQ greets your nose. Look, I grade on a BBQ scale that takes into account the sides as well. Potato salad, coleslaw bbq baked beans with pieces of burnt ends cooked in?!! This is madness. I could explain more but now I've gotten all worked up. I'm ordering takeout.

Ingredients are natural and organic but my favorite part is that there is absolutely no sacrifice in taste and flavor. We're talking individually selected types of coffee, quiche that will blow your mind, baked french toast, home made biscuits and gravy, BLT's and my personal favorite....the breakfast pizza! I know it may sound strange, but trust me.....you need this. You DESERVE this.

We're talking individually selected types of coffee, quiche that will blow your mind, baked french toast, home made biscuits and gravy, BLT's and my personal favorite....the breakfast pizza! I know it may sound strange, but trust me.....you need this. You DESERVE this.

Sol is located in a district called "Martini Corner". This young and stylish district is SUCH a great time with a vibe all it's own! Just tell your Uber driver to head to Martini Corner and have fun bar hopping in this one of a kind district! Some of our pro team athletes have even been known to come hang out :-)

The Nelson definitely makes our list for things to do while in KC! The exhibits and art are amazing. They even used the grounds of the museum to host one of a kind sculptures and creations! Speaking of the grounds, if you want some gorgeous pictures of your visit, then make this the first stop. P.S. be sure to tour both the front AND the rear grounds! Oh and get there early and have breakfast in a stunning dining room surrounded by amazing artwork!

Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art
4525 Oak StThe Nelson definitely makes our list for things to do while in KC! The exhibits and art are amazing. They even used the grounds of the museum to host one of a kind sculptures and creations! Speaking of the grounds, if you want some gorgeous pictures of your visit, then make this the first stop. P.S. be sure to tour both the front AND the rear grounds! Oh and get there early and have breakfast in a stunning dining room surrounded by amazing artwork!
This is another iconic KC museum! This one is KC's original museum and is only a 4 minute drive away! We're so excited for spring of 2019 when the $19 million dollar renovation will is complete!

Shopping
If you've got a sunny day during your trip then we definitely recommend heading to the Plaza. SO MUCH SHOPPING! Beautiful fountains to see and visit as well! Be sure to look into getting a romantic gondola ride down Brush Creek on the Plaza in the summer! Horse and carriage rides available too! (Yes they are REAL horses and yes it's pretty cool) There's also plenty of places to eat while you're down there like Cheesecake Factory and Fogo de Chao. Be forewarned though lol the Plaza can be pretty pricey.

However the biggest difference is that Zona has much more realistic options. No Gucci and Prada out here. This is more American Eagle, Forever 21, Barnes & Noble, The Buckle... those kinda stores :-) Also has REALLY cool places to eat! Like Buffalo Wild Wings, Abuelo's, Cold Stone Creamery, Red Robin and more!

This hip urban grocery store is super close and is loaded with everything you might want or need to stock the fridge and cook at home! Also very convenient for any toiletries or small things you may have forgotten to complete your stay! Excellent selection of organic food and fresh produce!

Our zoo in KC is a MUST SEE destination if you're here! Brand new penguin and polar bear exhibits! It's got an amazing building that they turned into a rain forest habitat and you're able to walk among the rain forest animals INSIDE the exhibit! Loins on the savanna and silver back gorillas in the forest are just a few of the many animals and exhibits to see! Oh and if you're here to visit a KC resident, then have THEM purchase the tickets because the discount for locals is INSANE!

You have GOT to make a stop at Union Station! It's actually connected to Crown Center mentioned also in our guidebook! You've got to see this place to believe it. This used to be an old train station that has undergone some state of the art restoration. It is SO BIG and SO GRAND that you feel like you've been catapulted back in time when train travel was LUXURY. Definitely one of the BEST places to take pics in KC! The ceilings are so high up that i couldn't even begin to guess how high! Note as well that another bonus to this place is that it is FILLED with niche specialty shops like its gourmet candy store! Oh and even have brunch inside at Harvey's!
