Very nice, upper-scale restaurant with great food and an amazing bar. The Black Manhattan is outstanding. Make reservations, but usually they have openings. This is close to the White House, so a nice lunch or dinner spot after exploring the Mall.

One block west and it opened in Spring of 2023. It's the new Gay hotspot. The vibe on the inside is so cool, and there is outdoor seating as well. However, the place is always packed so getting there right when they open is smart to ensure you get a comfortable spot on the chic inside.

Walking and Transportation
We live in a very safe and walkable neighborhood in D.C. You will see people, young and old, walking all times of day, and it is also a very dog friendly area. That being said, we are in a big city, so it's always smart to lock your vehicle if you have a car.
The Metro bus and subway system is super easy and clean. We use it all the time. You can also find electric bikes and scooters, which are a fun way to navigate the city. The Metro bus has multiple routes that pick up on 9th and 11th street. The Green Line Subway is two blocks east and three blocks south (Mt. Vernon Square stop).
