Located inside Gate 1. There are two launch sites; one is by the Marina bathroom facilities and the other is by the wet moorage dock. A covered BBQ picnic area is also available. A Use Fee card is required to open the gates. For Use Fee cards and wet and dry slips contact Marina Specialist at 360-746-7002.

This lovely setting offers over 10 acres of hiking trails, sand beaches, a field for games, a covered picnic pavilion and bathroom facilities. This is a NO PET area. The Stimpson Family Nature Reserve offers over 4 miles of hiking trails through a beautiful forest setting. The forest is largely undisturbed and displays characteristics of an old-growth forest, including Douglas Fir trees over 400 years old, a wide diversity of tree species, snags and decaying logs, and a complex architecture of canopy, understory, shrub layer, and tapestry of the forest floor. Two ponds and additional wetland areas support a wide variety of plants and animals, including beaver. Deer, cougar, and smaller mammals frequent the park.

Galbraith Mountain is a very popular area of mountain bike trails that backs the southeast side of Bellingham. The working-forest is really part of Lookout Mountain, but Galbraith or sometimes "Galby" have long been the recognized designation for this beloved network of trails. Efforts from the Whatcom Mountain Bike Coalition have continued to make Galbraith a renowned recreation destination enjoyed by a variety of trail users.

The working-forest is really part of Lookout Mountain, but Galbraith or sometimes "Galby" have long been the recognized designation for this beloved network of trails. Efforts from the Whatcom Mountain Bike Coalition have continued to make Galbraith a renowned recreation destination enjoyed by a variety of trail users.
Mt. Baker ski area is located one and a half hours from Casa Sunshine. It is the closet ski area and has a great "local's" scene. In the summer it offers spectacular views and great hiking trails.
