Sightseeing
Little coffee shops along the pier and plenty of places to sit and watch the world go by, drop a line over the side or take the kiddies crabbing. Dogs are allowed along the pier also.
Beautiful views all around and it feels like you could just paddle across to Anglesey from here.
Plenty of parking in local streets or there is a small car park.
Entrance to the pier is a few pennies/donation.
Lit up at night too.

Stunning place and lit up at night - walk around the castle walls, climb the ramparts, visit the harbour with a little pub and eateries/coffee wagons, visit the smallest house on the quay.
Best chippy is the Arches, best café for cake is Jesters Tower (who also have entertainment and comedy nights).

A lot of steps down to the lighthouse but worth it for the views and the clifftops just full of nesting birds.
Nice to go of an evening or early morning and watch the sun set or rise before everyone else.

City/town information
Lots of little independent shops, large park area with seating and play parks/boats to hire, coffee shops and eateries - great place for walking/mountain gear. Can get a little busy at peak times.
Snowdonia railway also starts here and tickets can be purchased.
Padarn Lake has a car park that is usually a lot cheaper than the railway car park :-)
The National Slate Museum is fascinating for kids and adults alike and lots to see and do - free entry but you pay to park and can then explore the lake areas also.

A hidden gem with superb cakes, coffees and meals - the breakfast is outstanding.
We prefer it on a nice day as you can sit at the waters edge, enjoy a meal and watch the boats come up and down the river.
