Town of Canmore: Introduction and Description (https://canmore.ca/residents/about-canmore) The Town of Canmore is one of the most beautiful places in all of Canada to live, work and play! Opening out across the floor of the Bow River Valley and flanked on all sides by the front ranges of the Canadian Rocky Mountains, Canmore offers the best of all possible worlds. Beginning with an enviable geographic location approximately an hour and a half from downtown Calgary and five minutes from Banff National Park east gate, Canmore offers not only a spectacular location but unequalled outdoor recreational opportunities, great food, and great shopping in the heart of some of the world's most breathtaking scenery. Canmore enjoys a singular relationship with its surroundings. Throughout its transition from humble working class beginnings to its current eclectic mix, Canmore has managed to retain its small town, wilderness flavour. In spite of unprecedented growth it has integrated this with some of the best dining and shopping in western Canada. Canmore is home to a community whose vision is based on the conviction that environmental sensitivity and economic sustainability can be reconciled. Canmore is minutes away from Banff National Park, Kananaskis Country and Bow Valley Provincial Parks, five world-renowned ski resorts, and six breath-taking golf courses. With an international airport just 1.5 hours away, Canmore has a myriad of opportunities to offer adventurous locals and visitors alike. The town centre elevation is 1309 metres (4296 Feet) with surrounding summits reaching heights of 2936 metres (9,633 feet). The Bow River flows through the heart of town connecting residents to a network of wildlife corridors and trails. This unique geography supports an abundance of local wildlife and wildflowers and provides endless opportunities to experience nature at her best in and around town. Capitalizing on opportunities presented by the 1988 Winter Olympics the residents of Canmore turned a small mining town with a once uncertain future into an international tourist destination earning a reputation for excellence and innovation. Our youthful, energetic and well-educated population values a vigorous, outdoor adventure lifestyle; a lifestyle that supports and encourages an entrepreneurial spirit. This compelling combination has made Canmore one of the fastest-growing and most desirable communities in Canada. Keenly aware of the fine balance between economic growth and environmental stewardship, our community seeks to support businesses that take advantage of our incredible location while producing minimal environmental impact. Our future lies in the intellectual and creative wealth coming to the community from all over the world. There are strong growth opportunities in recreational tourism and the health and wellness sector. Opportunities that honour our past, sustain our tourism links and at the same time attract new, collaborative innovation will provide a greater spectrum of employment opportunities and most importantly, will preserve our key asset: the natural environment. Welcome to Canmore. We call it home.

Lake Louise: Description https://www.beautifulworld.com/north-america/canada/lake-louise/ Part of Banff National Park in Alberta, Lake Louise is one of the worlds most photographed glacial lakes. With its turquoise blue waters and surrounding snow-capped peaks, it’s unsurprising to see why. The magnificent turquoise colour of the water is a result of the light filtering effect of rock flour in the glacial runoff, though you need to visit between late July and August to see the water at its brightest. Interestingly, despite being a relatively small lake, at only 2km (1.2mi) long and less than 500m (0.3mi) wide, you may be surprised to hear that Lake Louise reaches depths of up to 70m (230ft). If you stand in front of the Chateau Lake Louise and face outwards towards the lake, you will be greeted with a fabulous view of the commanding Mount Victoria (3464m/11,365ft) and Victoria Glacier. On your left is Fairview Mountain (2744m/9001ft), with The Beehive Hems on your right. A path surrounds the edge of the lake, so you can stroll around at whatever pace suits you. How busy it is will depend on the time of day you are visiting, along with the time of year.

Craft Breweries

The Grizzly Paw Pub & Brewing Company has become a landmark destination by locals and tourists alike with two awesome locations. The downtown location opened in 1996 with a diverse food and ceraft beer menu. In 2006, we added six handcrafted sodas to The Grizzly Paw family. Brewed with the same principle as our beer: our soda is brewed with fresh water and brewed by locals who care. All of our sodas utilize freshwater that streams out of the Canmore reservoir, cane sugar, and no caffeine.

The Grizzly Paw Pub & Brewing Company has become a landmark destination by locals and tourists alike with an awesome second location. Building on the success of the downtown location for over 25 years, The Grizzly Paw opened a second location called “Tank310” on the third floor of our brewery in 2018. Embracing the craft beer culture, the executive chef has developed an approachable menu featuring Alberta beef, oven fired flatbreads, seasonally fresh salads along with savoury classics. The brewery has been gifted panoramic views of the Three Sisters, Ha Ling Peak and Mount Rundle that can be enjoyed from the restaurant or adjoining patio on the 3rd floor.
