The Rooms houses our Art Gallery, Museum and Archives. Check out the province's largest cultural space, home to its most extensive collection of artifacts, art and historical records. They have a gift shop and cafe with a view of the harbour that is spectacular.

Quidi Vidi is a two minute drive from the Airbnb and is a quaint historic fishing village within the city of St. John's, (pronunciations vary, even amongst longtime residents, but "Kiddy Vidi" is the most common). The village is adjacent to Quidi Vidi Lake (where the Royal St. John's Regatta is held the first fine Wednesday in August. Quidi Vidi's harbour is known as "The Gut". Located in Quidi Vidi is the Quidi Vidi Battery Provincial Historic Site, Quidi Vidi Brewery, Mallard Cottage Restaurant and The Plantation, a collection of various artisan studios selling art and handmade crafts. In the summer months different local food trucks are on site and picnic tables are provided outside.

Duckworth Street and Harbour Drive are parallel to Water Street and there are lots of shops and restaurants on Duckworth Street, Harbour Drive is a nice walk along the harbours edge with a great view of the Narrows, Signal Hill and The Battery.

Local....My favourite restaurant. Rustic, unique, casual and home cooked to perfection. Its not easy to get a reservation here in the summer months so book in advance if you can.

This little gem on Water Street is the best spot to eat if you plan on heading to George Street after to take in some local music and beverages. Located on Water Street directly across from George Street, there is no hassle getting from dinner to the entertainment centre of downtown. George Street has the most bars per capita in Canada and is paved in cobblestone.....some call it the Cobblestone Corridor.

Little sister to our famous restaurant Raymond's (closed for now) is The Merchant Tavern. The same locavore take on food is served up here and it is a local favorite. Not as pricey as Raymond's but still as good in every way. Also located on Water Street in a historic building that used to be a bank.

If you like Mexican food as much as I do you won't want to miss this place. Its full of life and the artwork and decor inside are as authentic as the food. I love this restaurant, actually I'm a little addicted. Located on Water Street across from the historic Court House and in the middle of all the Water Street activity.

Ches's has a few locations, the closest one to the Airbnb is Highland Drive if you are Skipping the Dishes and they have a full service restaurant as well.....about a five minute drive from the Airbnb. In the same area you can walk to a Sobey's store, Dollarama, Marie's Mini Mart, Scotia Bank, Hair Salons, Esso Gas Station. This strip mall like shopping area is called The Torbay Road Plaza....not to be confused with The Torbay Road Mall. Ches's is the go to place for a big feed of fish and chips with dressing and gravy....don't forget to muck it all up.

Neighbourhoods
Our neighbourhood is a highly sought after area for people looking to buy homes. The streets are wide and have lots of mature trees and safe and scenic walking trails two minutes away! These trails are some of the most easterly trails belonging to the East Coast Trail system! There are two playgrounds within walking distance of the Airbnb. We have lived in our home for over 20 years and have never had any trouble. We know all our neighbours in the area and they are all quite interesting and very nice people. We are about a seven minute drive to Middle Cove Beach, Stavanger Drive Shopping and Downtown.
East Meadows
Our neighbourhood is a highly sought after area for people looking to buy homes. The streets are wide and have lots of mature trees and safe and scenic walking trails two minutes away! NL has a shortage of rental cars so I recommend that you book well in advance to avoid disappointment.
