Falkland Palace is a superb ancient Scottish Palace. Home to Scotland's Royal Family, this attraction has been beautifully maintained and restored by Visit Scotland. The gardens are lovely.
The village is brimming with independent shops and decent tearooms.
Outside the village is the wonderful organic Pillars of Hercules farm, shop and restaurant.

Falkland Palace is a superb ancient Scottish Palace. Home to Scotland's Royal Family, this attraction has been beautifully maintained and restored by Visit Scotland. The gardens are lovely.

The cathedral stands dominant, the castle full of historical intrigue and a great place for kids who might enjoy crawling through the tunnels dug under the fortification during a siege. A multitude of golf-courses and club houses. The ancient university town is brimming with independent shops and interesting characters. Lots of eateries. The town Museum is also great for the family and with two beaches and an active little harbour. As well as ice cream galore... there's plenty for the family.
