Sightseeing

Greenwich Park. A must visit at one of the biggest London Royal parks.
Enjoy one of the best views in London. It provides an oasis of green space that you'll forget you are in the middle of London. When I go I normally approach it from the other direction, over Blackheath with its exhilarating wide-open skies. The road that runs through the centre of Greenwich park is actually called Blackheath avenue. It takes you past the cricket pitch, beyond which the pink line of the cherry blossom avenue (in springtime) rises to greet you. The cherry blossom avenue is in the part of Greenwich park beyond the observatory where the tourists rarely venture, right up on the hill at the back of Ranger’s House and its spectacular rose garden. HOT TIP! Don't waste money. No need to pay to enter and see the Meridian Line, there is a gate right behind the observatory that is accessible, past it and you'll find the meridian line on the ground, you can then happily take pictures for free :) NOT To Be Missed: -Wilderness deer park -Ranger house and rose garden -Royal Observatory and Prime Meridian -Cherry trees avenue -One tree Hill vista point -Greenwich Royal Park Herb Garden -Old Royal Naval college -The painted Hall -Cutty Sark -Greenwich Market
