Historical and religious interest

In my "Less Visited..." Guidebook I will share with you some of my favorite spots in greater Limassol and not only, aiming more at the traveler in Cyprus rather than the tourist.
Medieval sugar factories. In 1494, Pietro Casola, a traveler in Cyprus wrote: " The abundance of sugar cane and its magnificence in Cyprus are beyond description. The patrician, Francisco Cornaro of Venice, has at Limassol a great estate, Episcopia, where so much sugar is made that I believe there must be enough for the whole world!" Roy and Lesley Adkins, authors of history and archaeology books.

Visit Lofou for its beautifully restored houses with their wooden balconies, the narrow cobbled streets, the neoclassical school, the magnificent church, the taps and cisterns. If you are in the area in February-March admire the almond trees in bloom.

Food scene

In Food Scene, I will recommend places I have visited and I would gladly visit again because of the quality food they serve their uniqueness and authenticity.
When in Kato Drys, visit Elli's Jam and Jar for a quirky brunch at the most unexpected place. A great variety of wonderful jams and preserves, a wide array of baked delights, plus just-baked bread still warm from the oven. Only by appointment, as there is only one table!!!
