Hallgrímskirkja or Hallgrímschurch is located about 5 minutes walk away. You can hear the church bells quite well from the apartment. Inside you can take the elevator to not quite the top but close and there you have a good view over Reykjavík. There are often concerts in the church.

This is Reykjavík oldest swimmingpool just a one minute walk from the apartment. The inside pool is original from 1937, but the outside pool is quite a recent addition. There are hot tubs both inside and outside and a sauna.

This Art Museum is located in a very small park. The exhibitions vary. There is a small cafe inside the museum and a gift shop. The park is also nice to visit on a sunny day. It takes about 8 minutes to walk there.

Raus is workshop at Njálsgata 22 where a few Icelandic goldsmiths work together doing their own design. It is also a small store. It is located next to the small square about a 4 minutes walk. It is fun to look inside if you are passing by.

A very nice record shop about 8 minutes away. The 12 Tónar shop is known as a friendly place where you can sit down, listen to a wide selection of music on two floors, enjoy free espresso, read magazines or browse the juicy collection of rock literature. There are sometimes concerts in the shop. Especially on Fridays during the summer when the lovely garden becomes the venue for all kinds of music. In 2006 the 12 Tónar shop in Reykjavik was awarded the prestigious title Shop of the Year by the City of Reykjavik.
12 Tónar is also an independent record label.
