While not the best Chinese food in the city (That title goes to Wo Hop on Mott street in China Town) it is still very good and delivery is almost always less than 30 minutes.

Not really in our neighborhood but definitely worth the trip to China Town. This place has been around for ages and has the best Chinese food in the city. They serve family style dishes of all the popular Chinese dishes. Most everything on the menu costs around $7 and easily feeds two people. When you arrive you will see there is an upstairs and a downstairs outside entrance. The story is each while named the same is owned and operated by two brothers. Go to the downstairs entrance though the food is better. It may look a little gritty from the outside but you won't be disappointed.

They make a great spicy beef ramen and have all the other Japanese Izakaya style bar fare as well. The inside has nice natural wood throughout and you can even sit at the bar to watch the chefs prepare food.

Bayard's is a great Irish Pub with all the usual on tap. What sets this place apart is the food. They make a great shepherd's pie that is the best I've ever had!

With an upper and lower floor that has outside seating Five Mile Stone( Named for the place where George Washington placed a stone to mark the fifth mile from Wall Street) is a great place for lunch and brunch food during the day and a lively place to stop in and have a drink at night.

Parks & Nature
Most people from out of town never venture over to see this park but it really is worth it. There is a very nice path that runs right along the East river where you can watch the ships pass by. It's very peaceful and a great place to unwind and relax.

Sightseeing
Many people don't know it but there is a tram that runs across the East river to Roosevelt Island. It operates on the NYC Metrocard and is a great way to get a bird's eye view of Manhattan's East side, the bridges and Queens. While your on Roosevelt island there is a free hop on hop off bus that can take you around the island. Head to the South end to see the FDR Four Freedoms Park where there is a huge marble bust of FDR. Or hang out in one of the parks along the West side of the Northern part of the island to watch ships pass and get a unique view of Manhattan.

Or if you have the Instacart app( they charge a $100 annual membership but if you've never tried it you can get a free 2 week trial) you can shop Aldi on the app and have your groceries delivered for the cost of a tip for the delivery person.
