Just 5 miles north on A1A is Walton Rocks Beach, also known as the dog beach! The county has designated this 24 acres of beach front land as an official, off leash dog park. Dogs can play in the surf and run on the sand every day from sunrise to sunset.

Our beach across the street, called Waveland Beach, has a lifeguard, outdoor shower, restroom and parking, should you decide to take your car. Waveland Beach marks the start of a 13.2-mile bike path that takes riders north along A1A to Blue Heron Boulevard south of Fort Pierce Beach. Make sure to bring water on hot days!

The National Navy SEAL Museum is the only museum dedica ted solely to preserving the history of the United States Navy SEALs and their predecessors. Located 10 miles north in Fort Pierce, Florida, the Museum resides on the training grounds of the original Navy combat divers, the Frogmen. Built to honor the men who served with fortitude and dedication, the Navy SEAL Museum first opened its doors on Veterans Day in 1985. From humble beginnings, the facility has experienced tremendous growth, achieving national stature in 2007. Spend some time climbing on and boarding authentic Navy vessels and vehicles from decades past.

The House of Refuge at Gilbert’s Bar is the only remaining House of Refuge. Built as one of ten along the east coast of Florida, it is the oldest structure in Martin County and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
