Monells is a mediaeval village built around the former castle of which only the outer walls are still preserved.

Canapost, is a small village made up of a small group of farmhouses built beside the parish church of Sant Esteve, one of the most significant archaeological monuments in the region.
An archaeological excavation carried out by Forallac Town Council in the church cemetery of Sant Esteve de Canapost revealed 85 anthropomorphic (human-shaped) tombs made from slabs and 8 sarcophagi sculpted in sandstone, very typical of this area.
Pottery casseroles and Saint James shells were also found, brought from Santiago de Compostela by a pilgrim more than 600 years ago.
