If you’re a foodie, really REALLY good food at a proper restaurant is at Rijsel. Flemish/French kitchen. Bit out of the way, east side of town, Marcusstraat. No way without a reservation. But if you go there, have a drink before or after on the top floor of the new Volkshotel aroud the corner. The same owner just opened De Scheepskameel in the old navy area near central station. Also very recommendable.

Café L’affiche on the intersection of Jacob van Lennepstraat and Da Costakade. No dinner! But the best tosti’s of Amsterdam and special beers. Big terras in the sun, but also wonderful in evening. Plus the bartender knows his music. Best kept secret of Amsterdam.

Best club in town, just around the corner of our house. Fabulous restaurant as well (a little on the price, but worth it if you can spend it!)
The club on the other hand is crazy and dirty, always with a good line up. If you don't need sleep, this is where you will end up.
