On the doorstep. Great coffee pop-up. Tennis courts. Look for the cycle paths and walkways on the old rail tracks that lead down to Leith or up into the city at Canonmills, or follow the river up to Stockbridge and the Dean Village.

Personal highlight. Find the walkway from Victoria Park and walk to Leith (10 minutes) or up into the city passing the Botanic Gardens (20 minutes) and on up to Stockbridge (Sunday market, charity shops, pubs and cool hang outs), Dean Village and the two National Galleries of Modern Art. A great way to spend a Sunday - or a weekday (when it's less busy). You can cycle this path too.

Saturdays 10-4 - a great local market with local producers selling bakery, vegetables, organic meat, quality fish, vegan salads plus clothes, arts and crafts etc. A really atmospheric way to spend the day in historic Leith. Nearby coffee shops and restaurants on The Shore.
