If you want to experience really good Mexican food and ok with a little bit of a drive, this is the place to try. It can host parties of just a small group. It was started by a lady that used her husband's life insurance money after he died and left her with two small children. You can see while dining inside the original establishment walls and how the restaurant expanded as she succeeded. She and her daughter went on the write a book together with the family recipes and was featured in many food write ups. The original owner has died, but the two children run the restaurant now.

100 Probandt StIf you have heard about Texas Ice Houses, then you must come experience this one with large Pecan trees to sit under, while crunching on the bottle caps of years past. The food is excellent and I highly recommend the Cheesy burger. Nice beer, cider and wine selection to enjoy with your food.

All organic brews and food. Nice people, good food, great atmosphere. The patio is great. Try the cask. This rotates, but is always good.

Mission San Josè is one of five Missions located in San Antonio and is a National Historic Park. It turned 300 years old in 2020. It was a fully sustained village at one time. You will see living quarters here, the place of worship, cemetery, and mill. There is a visitor center as well. It is a must see.
