The Hanseatic merchants traded mainly with stockfish from Northern Norway and grain from the Baltic countries. The tenements in the Bryggen area each consists of several smaller trade houses, each run by a merchant with a journeyman and apprentices.

Fjellveien is a quite flat path located half way up the Mount Floyen, north to south. Here you get a nice 180 degree view of the city center and many of the areas around Bergen, and all the way to the North Sea at clear days. In the north Fjellveien is the starting point on the Stoltzekleiven trail, so you can walk from the apartment.

You can also walk the trail up to Fløyen. From the apartment you can walk 15 minutes on Fjellveien, then follow the trail to Fløyen.
