El Yunque is the only tropical rainforest in the US Forest System. El Portal Visitor's Center recently re-opened; the exhibits are informative and they also have short trails. Don't forget to stop by and visit the Puerto Rican Parrot before heading up to one of the trails. If you wish to visit the trails you will need to secure a reservation at https://www.recreation.gov/ticket/facility/300017

Old San Juan
Old San Juan is a most in the area. Make a day out of it. Visit the San Cristobal and El Morro Forts in the morning and explore the city and its many plazas, museums, churches, and artisan shops. Brunch at St. Germain or Mercado La Carreta are wonderful and if you like chocolate and martinis then have a Chocolate Martini at Cortes Choco-Bar.
