A great choice if you're looking for something quick to take out: their banh mi (Vietnamese sandwiches) are tasty. Or try their salad with tofu or their spicy wings. Even their chicken soup is yummy!

A new favorite brunch place, especially if you like carbohydrates. They mill their own flour and their baked goods are tremendous - especially their cinnamon rolls. There's a toaster on every table!

We went from 0 nearby taco places on Foster to 3 - during a pandemic, and all between Kedzie and Kimball. I've tried all 3 and they're solid across the board. I listed this one only because it's closest (by a hair). Go try Rio's Tacos (closer to Kedzie) and Taqueria Las Flores (almost to Kimball) and tell me what you think!

This park has the mother of all playgrounds: a sprawling, all-wooden haven for kids. It's definitely not walking distance from the house, but a fairly short drive.

This is the closest park and a very pleasant one. The swimming pool is a zoo of families in the summer and they also have tennis courts and a great bike path that goes north a few miles.

This a wonderful and big park that’s just a short bike ride away. They recently opened a new prairie restoration that hugs the Chicago River. It’s got ball fields, tennis courts, a big field house with a wood shop and more.
