Mahogany House was built on the belief that simple is good. This ethos extends from the architecture and design, to the service, wine and food. Since the beginning we have treated MH as a big recipe, with the idea that if you source the greatest ingredients possible and prepare them with knowledge and care, you will create something special. The key is to keep things simple. We hope we have created a space for our guests that feels comfortable and real, somewhere that you can either grab a pizza & beer in flip-flops or a classic Bordeaux in Brioni.

Fort Fincastle was built at the top of Bennet’s Hill as a lookout post for marauders who would try to sneak into the harbour. The building of the Fort was completed in 1793 and was made from cut limestone. It also served as a lighthouse in the early 1800’s

the Government House on Mount Fitzwilliam has the unique Bahamian pink and white colouring. This impressive building is the official residence of the Governer General of the Bahamas. In 1830 this building was gifted an incredible statue of Cristopher Columbus that had been imported from London. The statue is placed on the staircase leading up to the government house and overlooks the city of Nassau. This statue was erected to commemorate Columbus’s arrival in the Bahamas in 1492
