Located at the end of Surfside Avenue, this undeveloped state park area has beautiful views, two abandoned concrete WWII observation bunkers, and walking trails which end at Ditch Plains beach. Accessed by the eastern end of Surfside Ave & a marked entrance off Montauk Highway. Recreate the final scene of Showtime’s ‘The Affair’ along the bluffs!

Camp Hero State Park

‘Montauk’ was allegedly the original title for Netflix’s hit show ‘Stranger Things’ until the setting was moved to the Midwest. Check out the expansive views, hiking and biking trails, picnic area and left-behind history in the abandoned buildings from the U.S. Army’s occupation there. The Montauk Lighthouse is adjacent to Camp Hero - check the hours to climb 137 steps of the tower for fantastic 360 degree views.
