Carsington water is a reservoir which is 6 minutes drive away from the house. It is a fantastic place for walking, running, cycling, bird watching, picnics, windsurfing and sailing. It has a great park for kids of all ages. It also has on site BBQ facilities. There is a visitors centre with cafe above with a fabulous view over the water and an ice cream shop with outdoor seating. It really does feel like you are at the sea site when you are there. It’s 7.7 miles roughly to go all the way around it. You can hire bikes(including electric bikes) and windsurfs and boats for sailing or fishing and lessons are available too.

This a a great place for a walk but there is also a farm park for kids, beautiful gardens and the house itself. Well worth a visit as the grounds are beautiful.

This is a great place to go for a walk, cycle, run or climb. Black rocks is just off the High Peak Trail. This can be accessed by foot in 15 minutes from the house. Kids will love exploring the rocks and paths and there is a trig point to be found for those who like hills.
