Our favourite pub. Great selection of beers and ciders and definitely not the sort of place where everyone turns to look at a "stranger" coming through the door.

This is our most local pub. It has a lovely outside space and a good selection of ales. Less than a ten minute walk from our police. Give it a try!

Sweeny and Todd is an institution in the Reading food scene. If you like a pie then you’ll like Sweeneys! You walk through the shop (you can buy pies to take away) and up the steps to the restaurant. Don’t be put off by the decor; it’s been the same for years. It’s good old fashioned grub that’s probably best suited to carnivores, but it is good old fashioned cooking and good value too. They also serve real ale.

Nice recreational outdoor space with a play park for children, bowling green, tennis courts and all weather football pitches. On the first Sunday of every month there's model steam trains to ride on.

Retail Therapy

Modern shopping centre which houses all the usual shops that you’d expect to find. The ground floor consists almost exclusively of restaurants and bars which look over the River Kennet. There’s also a Vue cinema which at the time of writing (2020) screens all movies for £5....bargain!
