If you've not tried raspado, you are seriously missing out. After you've made the steep climb to the top of Calle 6, you deserve a icy cold raspado. Shaved ice, topped with your favourite fruit syrup (we love the tamarindo or mango biche), then drizzled with condensed milk.

Hiking from Barichara to Guane on the Camino Real is one of the best ways to spend a morning. Go early before the heat of the day sets in. Wear a hat, pack sunscreen and water. The hike takes around 2 hours, and when you're ready to go home simply jump on the Barichara bus from the main plaza.
