Acton Studio is perfect for walkers as we are on the South West Coast Path, ideal for those wanting to get back to nature and unwind as we are off the beaten track.
Acton Studio is a recently converted compact purbeck stone outbuilding with double bed, wet room and kitchenette with table and stools. The kitchenette has an electric oven, hob, fridge, sink, kettle, toaster and essential kitchen items. Dorset tea, coffee, sugar and milk provided. The studio is located at the bottom of our rear garden, the studio has it's own private garden. There is parking but it is not adjacent to the property. Sit in the enclosed garden on a summer evening after a long hike relaxing with a beer or glass of wine. On a clear night and with no street lights you can gaze up at a sky full of stars.
Acton is a small tranquil hamlet of around forty Purbeck stone cottages with unmade roads throughout. There is two pubs within walking distance. The King's Arms in Langton Matravers (25 minutes) and the Square and Compass in Worth Matravers (30 minutes). The Square and Compass only serves pies and pasties. A couple of minutes in the car and you reach The Scott Arms in Kingston then a little further The Castle Inn and The Greyhound in Corfe Castle. The nearest shop is in Langton Matravers ( a twenty five minute walk) but please check that they are open. There are Coop and Budgen supermarkets in Swanage and lots of smaller shops (a ten minute drive). We are surrounded by fields, some with cows and sheep and we are located on the South West Coast Path incorporating breath-taking views. We are lucky to live in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, home to many rare plants and animals. The Purbeck coastline is part of the ninety-five mile stretch known as the 'Jurassic Coast', named England’s first natural world heritage site in 2002 because of the unique insight it offers into 185 million years of the Earth’s history.

Acton, Anglia, Wielka Brytania

This little studio is lovely and bright with it's own entrance. It has a small kitchenette and a shower room. It can be set up as a double or twin. There is a garden for your use which has stunning views of the hills and bay. It's close to the coastal path for wonderful walking opportunities and is just 0.8 mile/15 min walk, to the seafront/centre. Kitchenette has microwave, kettle, toaster, very small fridge, teas, coffee, milk, bread, preserves and cereals. Parking is on the road and plentiful
The studio is brick built and is completely self contained with its own entrance. It is light and bright, with a lovely view across to the purbeck ridgeway and the sea, when standing. The bedroom area measures approx 3.5x3.5 mtrs with a separate kitchenette and shower room. It should be noted that the ceiling slopes from 2.1 mtrs (6ft 9) at the front, to 1.9 mtrs (6ft 2) at the back. The bedroom and shower room have heating. I am told that the bed is extremely comfortable. It's a 5' 2" king size that can be split into two 2' 6" singles for twin occupancy. A fold up table and chairs is provided for you to dine in the bedroom. There is covered storage for bikes etc,and for walkers/cyclists to hang waterproofs to dry( please ask when you arrive). A launderette is just a few minutes away by foot. Please note that the fridge is only for bare essentials, as it is only about 18 inches square.
I am situated on the Jurrasic coast which is a World heritage site with walks along the coast plus the Purbeck Ridgeway, which affords stunning views over Poole Harbour on one side, the Purbeck Valley to the other, with Corfe Castle on the route. From my place it's easy to get onto the coast path (20 mins walk) and I'm also situated on the Priests Way which is a lovely 3.5 mile walk or cycle to the pretty village of Worth Matravers, with a superb vintage tea/ lunch /supper room the legendary Square and Compass pub(look it up) . The path has been recently resurfaced with loose stone so is accessible all year round. Most of the costal area is open access, so there are many other lovely walks from your door, including a walk through Dorset Wildlife Trust's Townsend Reserve, through to Dorset County Councils, Durlston Country Park and lots of National Trust Land. A few mins walk away is a caravan park with a bar and swimming pool for public use. There is a lovely safe beach in the town with easy access to the shops and eateries. within a short walk to there is a more secluded/ quieter beach, (north beach). The beach has again been awarded the coveted blue star for water quality in 2019 and North Beach is listed in the top 5 best beaches of Dorset . There are opportunities here to enjoy water and land sports such as kayaking, paddle boarding, coasteering, climbing etc. The RSBP nature reserve of Arne is nearby which was the location for the BBC's 2016/2017 Autumn Watch and Winter Watch highlighting its significant importance for wildlife, not only nationally but internationally too. The National Trust Studland Bay is 3 miles from here, with its fabulous 4 mile stretch of fine golden sands backed by an vast area of sand dunes and heathland full of wildlife. There are a few of good restaurants, and lots of lovely independent cafes in town. Daytime, Java is particularly good for coffee, vegan and vegetarian food, and Love Cake has a wide lunch /teatime menu. Evenings, Bliss and Chilled Red are recommended. All the pubs also serve food. The Black Swan is of particularly good quality (evening service Monday to Saturday and Sunday's lunch only) and is only a 5 min walk from here (early booking advisable. Phone them to book anytime after 5.30 daily ). A few of the pubs have live music at the weekends, but not all, so you can avoid that if you wish. There is a good variety of small independant shops selling a range of goods to suit various budgets, ideal for a good mooch about town. There are two supermarkets in the town both open until late Mon to Sat, a mini market close by that opens everyday until 20.00 including Sundays. Also Arkwrights spar convenience store open daily, from early to 22.00 is about a 5 min walk and the Texaco garage spar shop, a 10 min walk, is open early until 23.00. The Purbeck area and Swanage itself, hosts a wide variety of music and arts festivals, throughout the year to cover most people's taste. Also many organised walks, and nature based events led by various experts are available throughout the year too. The Web site 'Visit Dorset.com' is a good source of information for the local area and beyond. Walking into the centre of town from here is 10 /15 mins on lit streets, that are switched off at midnight.

  • Cóż za przytulna noc w Lapland Lodge! Miłe i wyjątkowe doświadczenie! Śniadanie w jadalni Piotra było pyszne! Zalecana

    Griet2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Klejnot w Purbeck.

Seascape is a bright, airy lodge down its own drive at the edge of Swanage Bay View. Adjoining Townsend Nature Reserve it enjoys utter tranquillity and spectacular views over the bay, as seen on 'A Place in the Sun'. With its tasteful modern furnishings, central heating and double glazing, Seascape is a cosy winter retreat, while in Spring and Summer use of a 1903 beach hut on a private beach is included. In addition, guests enjoy the amenities of SBV - all within a 15 min walk of the seafront!
Seascape is our much loved holiday home. It combines peace and seclusion with access to a stunning pool, good gym and spectacular countryside. 5 mins walk in one direction takes you to the Southwest coastal path or 15 minutes in the other direction to the seafront and the lively shops, cafes and restaurants of Swanage. Absolutely the best of both worlds.
Seascape occupies a stunning location on the edge of Swanage Bay View on the Jurassic Coast. A World Heritage Site, the Victorian town of Swanage remains open to visitors all year with its eclectic shops, cafes and restaurants and enjoys a microclimate, situated as it is at the tip of Purbeck. Great walks, pubs and tea rooms. Base yourself in Swanage to explore Studland, Poole and Brownsea Island or, to the west, Lulworth Cove, Lyme Regis or Dorchester.

    Alison2018-03-11T00:00:00Z
Doskonała baza wypadowa do zwiedzania jurajskiego wybrzeża.

Takie łatwe zameldowanie i wymeldowanie.

Studland Beach (National Trust) is a 20 minute drive with its miles of sandy beach, dune and heathland walks and picturesque village - Enid Blyton's Toytown from the Noddy books - including the Pig on the Beach hotel/restaurant and Bankes Arms pub with huge clifftop front garden. Near the village is the 9 and 18 hole Purbeck Golf Club - once owned by Enid - with marvellous coast and harbour views and , yes, more walks. Further along past Studland is the Sandbanks ferry to Poole/Bournemouth at the entrance to Poole Harbour and boats to Brownsea Island, the birthplace of the Scouting movement and home to red squirrels, deer and peacocks. Fossil lover's Kimmeridge, Durdle Door, Lulworth and Weymouth and Dorchester are all short drives to the West. And West Dorset's Golden Cap and Lyme Regis are a day trip away.

Mieliśmy naprawdę wspaniałe wakacje i to mieszkanie znacznie ułatwiło nasz pobyt (z dzieckiem). Dobry wystrój i prawie wszystko, czego możesz potrzebować.

There is a brand new double bed, breakfast table, separate wash basin and very compact wet room which is a combined toilet and shower space. Unfortunately not suitable for less abled people. Enjoy a continental style breakfast in the mornings; there is a kettle with tea and coffee, a toaster and small fridge supplied with milk, butter and preserves. There is Dorset Cereal, Kelloggs cereal and wholemeal bread for toasting. Gluten free diet can be catered for, please just let us know. Tap water is fron a mains supply so perfect for drinking. There is parking but it is not adjacent to the property and via unmade roads, not suitable for less abled people There is Wifi which can be very patchy at times and can drop out so please don't rely on it if you need it, very sorry but that's all we can do for the moment. Sit in the garden on a summer evening after a long hike relaxing with a beer or glass of wine. On a clear night, as there is no light pollution, you can gaze up at a sky full of stars.
Acton is a small tranquil hamlet of around fifty Purbeck stone cottages with unmade roads throughout. There is two pubs within walking distance. The King's Arms in Langton Matravers and the Square and Compass in Worth Matravers. The Square and Compass only serves pies and pasties but is a fantastic experience. The nearest shop is in Langton Matravers but please check that they are open. There are Coop and Budgen supermarkets in Swanage and lots of smaller shops.

The Shepherds hut is situated in its own woodland and is off grid. You will be able to take in the beautiful night sky and fall asleep to the tranquil sound of the stream trickling by and our owls twit twooing after a day of walking the coast line and visiting the RSPB at Arne . It has its own small log/coal burner to make it nice and cosy and there is a lovely comfy double bed to relax on. You will also hear the night time noises of our woodland friends -the foxes barking and the deer rutting.
There is no wifi or electricity at the shepherds hut. This is your time away from your devices. The lighting is by lanterns powered by battery. So bring a good torch and some easy to slip on foot wear e.g. flip flops. If the weather forecast is inclement then waterproof foot gear is a good idea eg wellies. Come as if you are camping bringing your bedding (pillows, duvets & bottom sheet or sleeping bag) and wash things including towel. If you are cycling or coming by train or if you would just like us to provide you with bedding then we can happily do this for a small charge. There is a shower and loo in the downstairs of our house with independent access . This is about 100 yards away from the hut through a gate. We very much appreciate it if you can leave the hut as you find it by sweeping it out, clearing the ash from the fire and depositing your rubbish in the appropriately labelled bins by the shower room. We supply the first bucket of coal and kindling for you free of charge if you require any further buckets then there is a small charge of £5.
Once voted by the Guardian as the best place to live in England, Wareham has a great Saturday market every week come rain or shine. There is a farmer's market on the 4th Thursday of the month and a weekly produce market run by the local auctioneers. There is also an urban farm shop called the Salt Pig and two supermarkets the Co-op and Sainsbury's.

Hi! Welcome to the shepherds hut. It’s a lovely little hideaway on a working beef farm, just outside the picturesque village of Corfe Castle in the Isle of purbeck, Dorset. It’s a great location to use as a base for exploring the local area. The beautiful sandy beach of studland is just a 10 minute drive away, but if you don’t fancy driving, you can catch the steam train in the village to swanage beach instead!
Parking is available infront of the hut on the gravel drive. The outdoor hot shower is located just outside the hut. The toilet block is 30m away outside the farmhouse.
We are spoilt for choice with beaches in the Purbecks. If you fancy a sandy beach, head to swanage or studland, just 5-10 minutes away. If pebble beaches are more your thing then lulworth, durdle door and worbarrow bay are 20 minutes away. And If you want rock pools and ledges, Kimmeridge and dancing ledge are 10-15 minutes away. Other near by attractions include worth matravers, monkey world, the tank museum, the blue pool, sculpture by the lakes, old harry rocks, brownsea island, Dorset water park and lulworth castle to name a few.

  • Miałem dwa miłe dni w Swanage z Chrisem i Jara. Zawsze warto!

Double room with views of Corfe Castle & the surrounding Purbeck Hills. 'Corvesgate Cottage' is located in an area of unspoilt countryside. Walking distance to local pubs & easy reach of the best of the Jurassic Coast - lovely beaches, idyllic villages, Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door etc. Perfect base for local cultural, musical and historical events. Black out curtains to ensure a good night's sleep, parking, WiFi and TV. Even the walk in shower has views of Corfe Castle!
This listing is for a double room in our renovated cottage. The house is part of a terrace built in traditional Purbeck stone - which is one of the few houses in the village which sits at the top of the old medieval "Halves" - thus commanding direct views back towards the castle which dominates the village. The room has a double bed, quality linen, free WiFi, internet-enabled TV, hanging space, bedside tables and lamps, and a small desk and chair. Please note that the bedroom is up two flights of stairs and the shared bathroom and toilet are on the floor beneath - down a single flight of well-lit stairs. More photos coming soon! We also have a twin room available - (see last of current photo selection), and an additional single room coming soon. Check my profile to see list of other rooms available under Corvesgate Cottage),
We are located right between Corfe Common and the "The Halves" - both lovely walks, dominated by the romantic ruins of Corfe Castle. Other stunning walks and bike routes begin right from our doorstep. You can explore the woods leading down to the sea at Arne, where you will often encounter deer and other wildlife, or walk the ridges - Nine Barrow Down on one side of us and Flowers Barrow on the other, enjoying spectacular views of the sea on one side and the secret backwaters of Poole Harbour on the other. This is a place where it is still possible to get 'Far From the Madding Crowd'. The traditional Dorset landscapes described by Thomas Hardy - survive here, almost untouched by time. Purbeck is a beautiful place to visit, whatever the season. In summer it is a wonderful area for outdoors adventure (biking, hiking and spectacular beaches), historical re-enactments in the old castle, and musical events (blues, jazz, reggae, and folk festivals, & just about everything else – including Camp Bestival at Lulworth). In winter, gusty walks along the cliffs can still be great - followed by a cosy drink and meal in front of a roaring fire in one of the many local pubs. Rainy days can be spent visiting some of romantic old houses at Athelhampton, Kingston Lacy, Lulworth Castle. Or literary enthusiasts might enjoy the quaint cottage of novelist Thomas Hardy (Far from the Madding Crowd and Tess of the Durbervilles) at Bockhampton, and Lawrence of Arabia’s house at Cloud’s Hill – untouched since he left it. The old Rex Cinema is also an experience – the last in the country with gas lighting! At Christmas – Corfe’s quaint village square is lit up and Father Christmas arrives by hay cart to personally give a present to every child in the village, while the adults enjoy a drink and BBQ. Coastline & beaches The South West Coast path, starts in Purbeck and heads West to Devon. Our local coastline is also a UNESCO natural world heritage site (the 185 million year old “Jurassic Coast”). Aside from stunning scenery, fossils, and cliffs – the Purbeck coast offers a variety of beaches for every taste • Three miles of award winning golden sands at Studland • The family friendly beach at Swanage with its beach huts, watersports and summer “Punch and Judy” shows • Fossils and rock pools at Kimmeridge • Fabulous views of the backwaters and islands of Poole Harbour at Arne (also an RSPB bird sanctuary) • Secluded smugglers' beaches at Chapman’s Pool and Worbarrow Bay (a short walk from the ghost village at Tyneham) • Dancing Ledges with its dinosaur footprints, caves and swimming in the sea pool in the rocks • And of course, Lulworth Cove with its beautiful cliffs and world famous rock formation at Durdle Door. Other Activities The quaint stone village of Corfe itself is dominated by the romantic ruins of Corfe Castle. Over 1000 years old, Corfe was built by William the Conqueror and destroyed by Parliamentarians during the English Civil War. In summer, there are open air theatre productions and historical re-enactments. From Corfe you can hop onto the heritage steam railway to the seaside town of Swanage, or the old Saxon river town of Wareham, from where boats wend their way downriver and around the unspoilt islands of beautiful Poole Harbour (Brownsea Island has wild peacocks and red squirrels). Bird-watchers and animal lovers will love the birds and deer of the Arne Peninsula and Studland Heath. The large ape sanctuary at Monkey World (made famous by the TV series “Monkey Business” is also only a few miles away. The area also offers fishing, horse riding, high ropes in Rempstone forest, scuba diving & other watersports of all kinds.

Dzięki Nathan i rodzina!
