The Cabin is a small self catering 1 bedroom property attached to one side of Achnadrish House in the wilds of North Mull, yet only 15 minutes from the bustling harbour town of Tobermory. It was originally built in the 50s to house the owners collection of mechanical toys which the children from Dervaig were invited over to play with and is full of charm. Open plan sitting room/bedroom, bathroom with over bath shower, full central heating fuelled by our wood chip boiler and a fully equipped fitted kitchen. The interior is warm, cosy and comfortable, ideal for a couple or single person. Sorry no dogs unless they sleep in the car. We do our utmost to ensure your privacy whilst here at Achnadrish, the Cabin has it's own private entrance and parking area. Our ponies stables are close to the Cabin and although screened off you may hear us occasionally talking to our ponies! There is also a stunning view down the glen towards Ben Tallagh now that the forest has been felled and the sunrises from the Cabin are stunningly beautiful. We can put in a camp bed if required. Please note, as we are in a rural location we recommend you come by car. (Although we are on a bus route and the bus passes us 4 times a day so it is possible to get here by public transport.)
The Cabin is perfect for a single person or a couple and is ideally located in Central North Mull, 2 miles from the pretty village of Dervaig and 5 miles from the iconic town of Tobermory. With everything you will need including 24 hour heating and hot water, it is warm and comfortable, the perfect place to base yourself to explore the beautiful island of Mull. Achnadrish is in a very rural area and the Cabin is an ideal getaway from it all location, with the benefit of having the owners next door should you need help. If we are away then we always have a back up person on hand to help. The wild life in this area is stunning with eagles and other birds of prey, red deer, owls, lizards and slow worms regularly sighted. Excellent walking opportunities exist in this area, with a Forestry Commision hide looking out to Loch Tor just 10 minutes walk away. We keep animals here at Achnadrish, horses, pigs, dogs and a very inquisitive cat and you or your children are more than welcome to walk around the area to see the animals.
North Mull is a beautiful area with a wealth of things to do and see. Along the Northern Coast line are 4 stunning white sandy beaches with crystal clear turquoise waters all of which are easily accessible. There are hundreds of miles of Forestry tracks and walks to explore in the area and there is a wonderful track leading out into the wilds of the Loch Frisa glen leading from the entrance to the Cabin. Tobermory has a number of different wild life tour providers both land and sea based which we highly recommend to make the most of the rich wildlife we have on the island. Mull also has a rich food heritage and many producers and fantastic restaurants if you don't feel like cooking. There is a pub 2 miles away in Dervaig which provides wonderful meals.
  • Moja żona i ja uwielbialiśmy nasz czas w Eugenie's.

Bearnus Bothy has been lovingly renovated using our principle of ecological design to repair, repurpose and use what has been washed-up by the sea. It is one of the last old residences outside of the main dwellings around the Manse on Ulva. As such there are no neighbours until you reach the tiny community on Gometra, another three miles down the track. Seasonal magic: Bluebells, Primroses, nesting eagles, long summer days, heather-carpeted hills, rutting red deer, curious seals on the rocks.
Bearnus Bothy sits alone in a bay on the coast of the Isle of Ulva. It is reached by walking 5 miles along the rough track from Ulva Ferry, and it is another mile to reach the Isle of Gometra. The cottage is off-grid and offers the chance for living simply among a rich diversity of wildlife: White-tailed Eagles, Otters, Seals, and Red Deer are but a few examples of local residents. Please be aware that Bearnus Bothy is in a remote location, and the accommodation reflects the challenging nature of living on the island. Therefore, the provisions are basic and require a level of skill and experience of self-sufficiency.
The bothy is located next to the lively Bearnus Burn, running down from the summit of Ulva, with expansive views of Loch Tuath and beyond to the Treshnish Wilderness. The bothy is nestled above Bearnus Bay, only a few minutes’ walk down the wooded hillside. Gometra Gallery and honesty shop is a two mile walk along the track and supplies a range of food and local craft. It is perhaps the remotest shop and gallery you can find in the U.K.

*PLEASE SEE FERRY TIMES BEFORE BOOKING* *VERY basic but beautiful place* Situated on the picturesque Isle of Ulva, Cragaig Bothy is now available for visitors to the island. The bothy has basic accommodation, with no electricity or services. Although the water in the bothy is not suitable for drinking, there is a woodburning stove that can be used to heat water. Cragaig is located on Ulva's south side, and can be reached after a two hour walk from the Ulva Ferry, or by sea via kayak or boat.
To access the island of Ulva, you are required to take a short passenger ferry from Mull. The ferry operates Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm April to October, and also Sundays in June, July and August. *PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO FERRY SATURDAYS* The cost of this ferry is £6 return for adults, and £3 return for children. During the winter months, the ferry operates only at school crossing times (9am and 3:30pm) The bothy has a gas cooker certified by a qualified engineer. You will also be required to take your own sleeping bags/ bedding. There is a good selection of cutlery and dinner plates, and firewood is included in the price. Visitors are asked to respect bothy tradition and leave Cragaig as they find it - including leaving the fire set for the next visitors. All items, including rubbish must be taken on departure.
The island of Ulva is renowned for its stunning scenery and wildlife, and is owned and operated by the community of Ulva and North West Mull. Sea eagles, golden eagles, hen harriers, otters, seals and much, much more all call Ulva home.
Zdecydowanie polecam to miejsce, wspaniała gościnność i lokalizacja zapierała dech w piersiach.

Ardnamurchan’s most famous residents are arguably its huge range of wildlife. They’re part of our everyday life and are more easily spotted here on the Peninsula than most other parts of the country – much to the delight of our visitors. With a bit of patience (and perhaps a pair of binoculars or some local expertise) you might make a sighting of golden or sea eagles, buzzards and other raptors. Owls and bats often make an appearance in the long summer evenings too. Red deer are an almost permanent fixture of the landscape, particularly in the morning and evening. During the warmer months the spotted calves accompany their mothers on nocturnal visits to graze in the fields. In the autumn, rutting season, you’re more likely to hear the deer before you see them. Roaring contests and even duels between competing males is common at this time. Fallow and roe deer, foxes, pine martens, badgers and even the elusive wildcat call this area home. And that’s just a few of the land-dwellers. Look to the coast and its surrounding waters and you might find otters, common and grey seals, dolphins, basking sharks and minke whales. Quite the aquarium. These animals, by their very nature, are wild and while we can’t guarantee every visit will include a sighting – our dedication to the conservation and maintenance of the Peninsula’s flora and fauna means that we’re in a great place for giving you the best chance of spotting something.

The Byre built in 1886, has been creatively refurbished into a cosy, homely cottage. Enjoy the evening sun on the patio in the colourful garden with fruit trees. Set in the crofting village of Kilchoan it is a short walk from a friendly, local pub, shop, tearoom and regular ferry sailings to Tobermory, on the Isle of Mull.
The Byre, a semi-detached cottage in the heart of the village of Kilchoan, is an ideal retreat for couples visiting the untamed beauty of Western Ardnamurchan. For kayakers, island baggers, hill walkers, not suitable for car or public transport travellers due both to unmodernised bothy and 8 mile walk in from nearest road and the Ulva ferry (usually 9-5 M-F in summer (not Saturday, and Sunday only in July and August); and at 9 and 3.30 M-F only on school term days in winter). Ulva Ferry Community Bus runs on some days from Salen to Ulva Ferry - please see their website. Almost always has cold running water, hot water & heat only from solid fuel stove.
I część luksusowa ...

    Ron2019-09-16T00:00:00Z

    Mark2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Co za przygoda!! Bardzo podobał mi się nasz oboje pobyt. Odwiedzanie Gometry to prawdziwie magiczne doświadczenie, którego nie można przegapić. Dwa dni to za mało. Badaliśmy okoliczne wzgórza i pływaliśmy w oceanie.

The Wing of Achnadrish house, on the Western side of the house, originally housed the servants who looked after the guests in the main house, and although modernised, it retains a historical charm. The 3 bedrooms originally formed the hayloft and have a cottagey feel, whereas the downstairs is a little grander, with high ceilings and larger rooms, with a more shooting lodge feel to it and it now benefits from full central heating fuelled by our wood chip boiler, so you can be warm, and environmentally friendly! The garden is yours to enjoy and tables, chairs, a fire bowl and a BBQ are provided. Dogs welcome but must be kept on a lead when out of the Wing's enclosed garden as we have free range hens. We live in the central part of the house and there is another small self catering property on the Eastern side of the house. The Wing has a private parking area and private entrance. Please note the WIFI is limited to the sitting room and kitchen. We regret that the Wing is not suitable for those with limited mobility as the stairs are steep although there is a sturdy handrail. We should add that there is one toilet in the Wing which is upstairs, separate from the bathroom. There is a free standing shower in the bathroom as well as a lovely big old cast iron bath for a good soak. The hot water and heating are on 24 hours for your comfort. The Wing is suitable for families with children.
The Wing is in an ideal location for exploring the wonderful beaches and attractions of North Mull being only 15 minutes from Tobermory and 20 minutes from the stunning Calgary Bay. Achnadrish is in a very rural area and the Wing is an ideal getaway from it all location, with the benefit of having the owners next door should you need help. If we are away then we always have a back up person on hand to help. The Wing is steeped in history having evolved from being a hay loft to housing the servants for the shooting parties from the Calgary Estate to being a family home, to a self catering property. The wild life in this area is stunning with eagles and other birds of prey, red deer, owls, lizards and slow worms regularly sighted. Excellent walking opportunities exist in this area, with a Forestry Commision hide looking out to Loch Tor just 10 minutes walk away. We keep animals here at Achnadrish, horses, dogs and a very inquisitive cat and you or your children are more than welcome to walk around the area to see the animals.
North Mull is an excellent base for exploring the Isle of Mull, being close to Tobermory in the East and the 4 stunning beaches we have to the West of Achnadrish. There are lots of things to see and do with wildlife spotting, walking and exploring the many coastlines, mountains, hills, and endless forestry tracks being top of the list. There are plenty land and sea based wild life trips and a fantastic Aquarium, shops, playparks and Mull Museum, and restaurants in Tobermory for a rainy day.
  • Wing to naprawdę wspaniałe miejsce na pobyt - spokojne, przytulne, wygodne, otoczone niesamowitą scenerią i najlepszym widokiem z wanny, jakiej kiedykolwiek doświadczyłem! Dokładnie polecam The Wing.

A hillside hideout to escape, explore, rest and relax. Our light and airy bothan was specially commissioned by Studio Hardie, the bespoke craft team from Channel 4's Amazing Spaces. It is set in a grassy field overlooking an ever-changing vista of sea and mountains. Well-equipped and tastefully furnished, the bothan is a short walk from the pier, shop and ceilidh hall. Brave an invigorating swim in the sea, walk the beautiful hills or simply sit and soak up the tranquility.
The bothan is an open-plan space with a double-height ceiling and mesmerising views from the large picture windows. There's an extensive outside deck with a picnic table for sunny days. Facilities include a well-equipped kitchen (two-gas rings, full-sized Smeg oven and fridge), dining area, a comfy settee and log burner, separate heated bathroom with spacious shower and Swedish dry-composting toilet. There is a mezzanine with double-bed (accessed via a steep ladder) and two snug boxed-in bunk beds. The bothan is supplied with French bed linen, fluffy towels, organic toiletries and for rainy days: board games, a bluetooth speaker and an intriguing selection of books about Eigg/maps/walking guides. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, but please remember that this is a working farm with free-ranging sheep and cattle. Things to note Essentials: waterproofs and walking boots/wellies, slippers, torch, midge cream and sun cream, money (there's no cash machine on Eigg although you can withdraw money from the Post Office). Eigg is off-grid and generates all of its own electricity through renewables (solar panels, wind turbines and hydros). Each house has a limited electric supply so please don’t bring power hungry items such as hair straighteners and hairdryers. Eigg is an island, and boat journeys are at the mercy of the weather’s whims. It’s worthwhile checking Cal Mac’s Service Status the day before travel, as occasionally they change the timetable to avoid incoming storms. Cancellations do happen in stormy weather, particularly in the winter. It is advisable to get travel insurance to cover this eventually as Airbnb or Cal Mac don’t offer compensation for missed days or additional nights. If you need to spend a night on the mainland, accommodation in Mallaig, Arisiag and Morar can be found at the Road to the Isles website. Check the weather forecast at XC Weather.
Eigg is a peaceful and enchanting escape from the pressures of mainland living. It's a nature lovers’ paradise, with a beautiful, unspoilt environment that’s home to a plethora or rare birds, insects and plants. A small and friendly crofting community of about 100 people live and work here. Together the islanders have been pioneers in community land ownership, renewable energy systems and community broadband. In the summer month’s there are plenty of ceilidhs and music events, including the island’s independence celebration (June), the Feis (July) and one-off sessions in the island tearoom. There are three sandy beaches, including the Singing Sands, the peak of An Sgurr, caves and lochs. There’s also a small crofting museum, a craft shop, tearoom, and bike hire from Eigg Adventures. Eigg has a well-stocked shop (groceries can be pre-ordered and delivered to the bothan. See the Isle of Eigg shop website)

VERY BASIC VERY REMOTE BEAUTIFUL BUT NOT LUXURIOUS bothy in an idyllic situation - exposed stonework and wood. Bring own bedding and cooking stove. Basic pots crockery cutlery etc provided. Shared outdoor toilet, indoor bath heated by solid fuel stove. Coal can be bought for £12 a bucket available if requested well in in advance from Rhoda's shop on Gometra's official website. Suits kayakers, experienced hillwalkers and island baggers. Please see reviews for more feedback.
This is a VERY BASIC NO LUXE bothy - do not expect modernised comfort. Gometra is off-grid - that means no mains electricity. You will need to bring bedding, food, cooking appliances and fuel (coal can be bought £12 a bucket in advance - contact details on Gometra's official website). We do not have a cleaner and ask people to leave as they expect to find it. This is reflected in the low price.
Gometra is the most beautiful island in the world but very remote.

Łóżka były wygodne i spaliśmy dobrze.

  • Ten Bothy jest w niesamowitym miejscu, wartym podróży i polecamy go każdemu.

Traditional style cottage in renowned garden on NW coast of Mull with stunning views. Bed and cooked breakfast included in price. Parlo Italiano et un po' di francese.
Large double room with ensuite shower room in traditional-style cottage in fabulous location by the coast with views over Loch Tuath to the Isle of Ulva and the Treshnish Islands. An extra mattress on the floor can be provided for an additional charge. Cooked breakfast is served in the farmhouse style kitchen with Aga, and features local, seasonal produce: home-baked bread , eggs from own hens and Isle of Mull dry-cured bacon. Other dietary requirements by prior agreement. Lip na Cloiche has a wonderful garden, featured in numerous magazines, including Country Living and The English Garden. It is on a steep slope and planted with a huge range of shrubs and herbaceous, and is maintained solely by Lucy. There is a wonderful seating area at the top to enjoy the view and watch for wildlife: there are frequent sightings of eagles and otters. Lucy also makes cards and crafts from driftwood and other found objects, a selection is for sale at the cottage. Ballygown Bay – 200 metres in front of the cottage – is sheltered and great for launching kyacks to explore the coast and neighbouring islands. The hills behind the cottage provide excellent hillwalking. Lip na Cloiche is an ideal stop-off point for cyclists on the west coast. It is also an excellent base from which to explore the offshore islands. Ulva Ferry is 2 ½ miles away: there is a ferry over to the Isle of Ulva – wonderful for walking, wildlife and the renowned Boathouse Restaurant. Sea trips to Staffa, the Treshnish Islands and Iona also leave from Ulva Ferry, also sea eagle viewing trips. Because of rural location with no scheduled bus service, Lip na Cloiche is not recommended for those without their own transportation. Ballygown restaurant (BYOB) is just down the road for excellent evening meals in friendly location, three nights a week (ballygownmull:gmail.com). There is a restaurant in Dervaig (7 miles), The Bellachroy, which also does pub meals, and just beyond Dervaig An Birlinn Restaurant. In Tobermory (14 miles) Cafe Fish is very popular, or MacGochan's for pub meals. Booking is strongly recommended for all restaurants.
Wonderful coastal views and peaceful location.

AnTaigh Sgolie is a stone built former school converted into a cottage a number of years ago. An Taigh Sgolie means Schoolhouse in Gaelic. The cottage lies in a quiet location in the centre of the island. The surrounding fields and loch are a haven for wildlife. It’s approximate one mile from the nearest beach. The cottage is a large one bedroom house, with a large lounge with an open fire and WiFi, well equipped kitchen and bathroom with shower over the bath. It has oil fired central heating.
Tiree is the outmost of the Inner Hebrides. It can be reached by Calmac car ferry from Oban, and twice daily flights by Loganair from Glasgow Airport. Tiree has the longest hours of sunshine in the UK, and arguably some of the finest beaches in the world. It is almost entirely flat, is known as the land beneath the waves, and is ideal for amateur cyclists and walkers. The Island is approximately 12 miles long and 3 miles wide, can be very windy, and therefore doesn’t generally have a major midge problem. The island holds an annual Music festival and windsurfing wave classic, however the main attraction are the tranquillity, beauty, dramatic scenery and friendly islanders. Seafood, locally produced beef and lamb and new potatoes are specialities. Bikes and boats can be hired.
The island has a number of restaurants, and two hotels, and a coffee shop. Two small supermarkets provide a range of goods. The Skerrymore lighthouse is 12 miles from the Island and a museum provides details of this. There is a further island museum and a Broch at Vaul well worth visiting. It’s possible to arrange a rib boat trip to the Island of Iona, the spiritual home of Scotland, and Fingles Cave, made famous by Mendlesonn.
