• Lewinshope is a very spacious private house for large families, cosy get togethers & celebrations. If the weather is inclement, sit back and enjoy games and roaring fire.
• Sauna and separate steam shower.
• Fully-equipped kitchen (and we mean it!) that has everything you need, including two dishwashers extensive utensils and pans.
• Outdoor seating areas, where you can gather together or relax on your own.
• Fields and woods everywhere for you to walk about.
• Enough parking for 9 cars.
The Mill @ Lewinshope is situated in the beautiful Yarrow Valley.
When you arrive, you will be struck by the warm and robust wood around the rooms. The house is open plan, beamed ceilings and spacious throughout. Upstairs on the mezzanine level is a great place for children to watch television or for adults to escape the noise and have a quiet place to retreat and have an afternoon ZZZZZ!
This is a place to come and unwind or be active. Lie outside under the stars or sit in front of the roaring fire. Enjoy the spectacular wildlife and scenery.
Well-behaved dogs and children are welcome (£30 each). Swings and seesaw, woods and dens, and campfire making in abundance.
The kitchen has a great island as a gathering area, making the cook in charge stay connected with everyone rather than being tucked away in another room.
Luxury ensuite bathrooms, with large showers and one bathroom with a double-ended roll top bath, another with a sauna, and another with a steam shower.
Caterers can be organized and courses ranging from art lessons to wildlife walks, cooking lessons or calligraphy classes can be arranged by your hosts Johnny and Lulu.
We pride ourselves in immaculate five star cleaning, and we are at hand if anything is needed to make your stay that extra bit special. Cleaners can be arranged during your stay to spruce up your accommodation as desired, for an extra charge.
For our wheelchair users, it works well, with a few added ramps and large double shower. We provide matting outside for wheelchair seating as there is gravel which can be arduous to move around on. Once beyond the gate the drive is good for off-terrain wheelchairs, but this is a farm, so mud, stones and sticks are about.
Although we are new to AirBnb, we have successfully hosted guests before, and provide a sample guest review below:
"We booked The Mill for a short break for two couples, an exuberant collie and an elderly Aunt and we are hard pushed to decide who enjoyed the stay most. With a warm welcome by owner Lulu ( complete with a lemon drizzle cake which would please Berry & Hollywood) we found a house with a fantastically imaginative layout. High quality materials used throughout and all sorts of personal touches seldom found in rentals - The owners have obviously asked the question " If we stayed here what would we need?" - Joan H.
We live in a rural and tranquil setting. The Mill is surrounded by fields and trees and a beautiful oak wood which you can see from your sofa through the huge glass double windows. Herons, coots, ducks and oyster catchers can be seen through the day; at night owls and bats will be your neighbours...
We love to recommend places locally and Selkirk has coffee shops like The Three Hills and a couple of good restaurants. Why not book a table and then take a lovely walk around the Haining and visit the Walter Scott room. The other nearest town is Melrose which we love, lots to do there and only 20 minutes away.
