Woodside's former residents include: the Mars Bar family, a whiskey distillery owner, and one lion (yes!) Two movies were filmed in Woodside!
Woodside was designed by the Scottish architect Alexander "Greek" Thomson, a pioneer in sustainable building and an influence on Chicago's famous architect, Frank Lloyd Wright. Appropriate for 4 adults and 2 children. Central heating throughout, good wifi, bedding and towels included. Open kitchen, living room, and dining room. Fully-stocked Kitchen has plates, glasses, cups, cutlery, pans, utensils, electric oven, induction hob, fridge freezer, coffee filter, toaster, microwave, sandwich toaster, dishwasher, washer & dryer, iron, ironing board, breakfast bar stools, Rocca granite countertops, stainless steel Belfast sink, and kitchen table. Living room has a large cream corner settee, smart (Internet) TV, coffee table, standard lamp and a large multi-fuel stove. Dining room has a large teak table with safety glass cover which comfortably seats 6. Bedroom 1 with UK kingsize bed, wardrobe, dressing table. Bedroom 2 with UK kingsize bed, multi fuel stove. Bathroom with shower.
Local amenities include a store and post office in Cove village (2 min drive), with Kilcreggan featuring a bar, cafe, pharmacy and general store (6 min drive). Popular local outdoor pursuits include sailing, walking, cycling, golf and kayaking. Drive times to local destinations are: Helensburgh, Arrochar and Loch Lomond (30mins); Dumbarton (45 mins) and Glasgow (1 hour). Day trips to Inveraray, Fort William and Oban are popular, or choose simply to relax enjoying beautiful views in the locality.

Nie wiem, czy Jill zawsze chętnie wita gości, ale z pewnością sprawiła, że nasz pobyt był wyjątkowy.

  • Woodside to wspaniały dom, mieszkanie jest jego częścią. Bardzo nam się podobało, dzieci zawsze nazywały dom zamkiem, co jest dobrą rzeczą, ponieważ z zewnątrz naprawdę wygląda jak zamek. Nie ma nic negatywnego do zgłoszenia. Odbiór przez sąsiadkę Jill był bardzo serdeczny, z powodu zamknięcia drogi byliśmy tam znacznie później niż planowano, a ona nadal tam była osobiście, a nawet dostarczała jedzenie, w tym świeże warzywa z ogrodu. Dom: świetna lokalizacja, spokój, fantastyczny widok na jezioro Loch Long, dobra baza wypadowa do wędrówek, bardzo dobre wyposażenie kuchni i łazienki, wszystko było idealne. Chcielibyśmy wrócić.

    Tigh na Craig (house on the rocks in Gaelic) is a colourful village home overlooking the sea. The house is owned by an artist, and so there is original artwork everywhere. There is vintage furniture everywhere. Enjoy vintage vinyl collection, dvd and cd collection, Netflix and smart tv. Free wifi access. We are 10 minutes from a train station on the "Harry Potter" railwayline to Mallaig. You can get to Glasgow airport and the city of Glasgow on our little passenger ferry and rail connection.
    I am an artist and live and work here but my accommodation is separate from the part occupied by guests. I offer guests , a living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. You will have your own front door access, and access also to the garden and verandah. The house is centrally heated and there is a wood burning stove in the living room. I provide one basket of logs. Extra bags of logs available at £7.50 each. There is a smart tv there together with DVD, CD player and a record deck with lots of vintage vinyl. I have a Netflix account for your use. I provide tea, coffee. The decor is quirky and contemporary with vintage furniture mixed with the up-to-date.
    Our village - Kilcreggan faces south over the Clyde estuary. It is about an hour and a quarter's drive from Glasgow. The Gourock/Kilcreggan ferry runs Monday to Saturday until 6pm in the evening. Timetable online. It is a passenger ferry and the crossing is 10 minutes in duration.

The newly built apartment build has modern open plan living and dining. The area is spacious and bright with a full open modern kitchen, the dining area seats four, with comfortable sofas in the living area. 2 bedrooms , master with ensuite .
    There are two spacious bedrooms with fitted wardrobes and contemporary furnishings. The double room is bright and chic with crisp linen, an en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom has two single beds and natural light. There is a separate family bathroom. The single sofa bed for a child is stored in the Master bedroom and can be taken into the living room if desired. Maximum capacity is 6 people plus 2 infants only.( if all adults then 2 will have to sleep on the foam floor mattresses ) The town centre is only a stroll away, offering a selection of craft shops, galleries, pubs and cafes. On sunny days take a walk along the esplanade or take a picnic while exploring Argyll Forest Park and the famous Troussachs National Park. We do accept 2 small very well behaved and house trained dogs
    The apartment is in a quiet location despite being close to The town. Everything is close by . You ll even see the Waverley paddle steamer pass by on some days

    Just outside the Scottish National Park and 6mins walk from the sea is Cedarbank Studio's Yewtree Cottage. A one bedroomed cottage full of art. We have seven artists and they all offer lessons. Sitting in its own garden, Yewtree offers more than just an Airbnb experience. It's an opportunity to get outside and enjoy Argyll, learn something new or just do your own thing. It's a cosy little base - which we hope you'll enjoy calling home while you visit Argyll.​
    You'll have the full use of the cottage with plenty of storage for clothes, bikes, art equipment and outdoor gear. Free Wifi and Freeview TV, books and board games ensure there are options at the end of a day or if a day-in is planned. Yewtree is furnished with a comfortable king sized bed or two single beds (just let me know what you would prefer when you book.) The sofa downstairs in the living room can be converted to a chaise lounge or single bed - so at a push, the cottage will accommodate three. The kitchen has a fridge, hob, oven, toaster, kettle and microwave. There are some dried goods in the cupboard too - just in case. There is a bath and shower at the cottage and all linen and towels are included, making your stay as easy as possible. You are encouraged to use the garden, it's quiet and a perfect place for eating outdoors. The fenced garden keeps my dog in, but I don't know yours so make sure you're happy before just letting your precious friend out. (It goes without saying, that you should ensure the garden is kept clean.)
    Situated at the end of a quiet residential lane within 6 minutes walk to shore and coffee shops in Kirn. 2 mins by car to the beach or 5 mins to Dunoon town.

There are regular buses from the town, taking you to Glasgow and around the Cowal peninsula. Dunoon town centre is only a short walk away. Dunoon is a seaside, coastal town and it is the maritime gateway to the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park. The town has two supermarkets; a traditional high street with many independent shops as well as national chains, there is a weekly market. The local area is well served by cafes, bars and restaurants of all types. The town has a hospital, cinema, leisure centre with swimming pool, museum, arts and cultural centre and boasts many sporting, social and special interest clubs. Dunoon is accessible by road or by one of two ferry routes from Gourock.     This stunning and extremely large 2 bedroom, 1st floor apartment with beautiful views over the Firth of Clyde is perfect for a romantic hideaway or family holiday. Just 4 miles from Dunoon. It has all you need for your stay including very comfy beds. A welcome box included with goodies! The wildlife and scenery that can be seen from the front windows is fabulous. Take a walk along the many beaches or just sit in the window seat to appreciate how beautiful this place is. Our guests love it!
    This flat is in a fantastic location regardless of weather. The window seat is an added bonus where the window can open like a door letting nature come straight into the living room. Everything in the apartment is of high end quality so the stay can be as relaxing as possible. Having taken the advice of one of our guests, we have now installed a Blue-ray DVD player with a range of DVDs for our younger guests as well as films to entertain the whole family. Netflix is available if you use your own code. We've also purchased some bean bags for the children and are gradually putting together a toy box! We are always open to suggestions to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Please note our flat is on the first floor. It almost makes you think you are on a cruise ship with uninterrupted views of the water. Our guests really do love this place and have started returning annually!
    The neighbours are lovely in the area you will be staying in. Innellan is a much sought after area and this apartment is in prime position to enjoy peace and tranquility.

The bedroom is to the rear and is calm and comfortable; the bathroom has a shower with a very low step on entry. There is a private patio within the shared garden at the back of the property.
    An upper floor flat in a peaceful location yet only 5 mins by car to either ferry terminal and everything else in town is within walking distance. This is also my home so a lot of love goes into creating this space and I hope you like it. The bedroom is decorated in soothing colours with a comfy bed to aid a good night’s sleep.
    This 1st floor flat is in a row of Victorian buildings in the East Bay of the town. All facing the river Clyde with gardens front and back, my building is split into 4 properties. The area feels safe and calm yet only 5 minutes walk away we have a well stocked fuel station and a supermarket and another 5 minutes walk are the high street and its shops, hostelries, cinema, swimming pool, town halls and churches. The 5 mile promenade is perfect if you enjoy walking, cycling or rollerskating. You can enjoy the views of our Victorian pier from the livingroom window or visit the Castle Museum for more information on the town and a trip out to Benmore gardens is a must.

In Kirn itself there several shops ranging from cafes, post office, general store and off licence, bakers, florist, wool and crafts shop, and dentist . The town of Dunoon with many other shops and services is a short 5 minute drive and about a 15 minute walk along the promenade which is a lovely stroll on a sunny day.

    Roadside Cottage is located in the small village of Sandbank just outside Dunoon. Our small upper flat is situated on the corner of Holy Loch Marina. An excellent base for all that Argyll and the Cowal Peninsula has to offer. The flat has two small sets of stairs to gain access, the flat therefore is not best suited to those with mobility problems.
    Roadside Cottage is our family holiday home, so has all the bits and pieces you would expect. A fully stocked kitchen, pots, pans, utensils, gadgets and nespresso coffee machine. The kitchen has a fridge and small freezer, electric cooker and microwave. Please note there is no washing machine or dishwasher. Good wifi through the whole house, there is also access to a Playstation and iPod dock in the kitchen.

    Compact but very cosy modern apartment within an end of a hillside cul-de-sac in Gourock with spectacular sweeping views over Firth of Clyde, Loch Long, Holy Loch and mountains of Argyll. Very quiet. Bedrooms face the rear of the building where the countryside wilderness starts and the only night time disturbance is likely to be the slight noise of an odd deer venturing into the garden grounds.
    Please note that own transport is advisable. Although there is a public bus service at the main road at the bottom of the hill, some walking uphill from the bus is needed, which might be not suitable for young children and/or frail people. Discounted taxi service with a licensed Inverclyde taxi operator/driver could be arranged on request. The primary maximum amount of guests is four persons. However, a fifth person could be accommodated on a folding bed in the lounge, if required. I do believe in maintaining a healthy environment in the flat and keep the number of soft furnishings to a bare necessary minimum. It means no carpet floor coverings, etc., but it helps to keep dust levels as low as possible.
    Inverclyde with its principal towns of Greenock and Gourock boasts plenty of scenic places with spectacular views over water and mountains. Within walking distance from the apartment, there is Gourock-Dunoon ferry offering the fastest route to Argyll from Inverclyde. From Dunoon it is possible to explore the unspoilt mountainous scenery with empty roads of the Cowal peninsula and further afield into Argyll and Highlands proper. A few miles south at Wemyss Bay, there is the ferry linking the mainland with the Isle of Bute. For city lovers, Glasgow with its endless possibilities for shopping, culture and nightlife is only 30 miles to the east.

Istnieje mnóstwo informacji na temat tego, co robić i zobaczyć w okolicy, a także wszechstronne lokalne restauracje ... sprawdź z wyprzedzeniem w dniach otwarcia bardziej znanych lokalnych restauracji, ponieważ niektóre są zamknięte na pierwsze dni tygodnia. The nearest town is Helensburgh, which is 30 minutes away with a train station to and from Glasgow and Edinburgh, lovely restaurants, Mackintosh's Hill House and beach front walks. There is a 20 minute regular ferry from Kilcreggan to Gourock, which also has a train station into Glasgow in 10 minutes. The Kilcreggan Book Festival happens every two years in November. Groceries, pharmacies, cafes and vintage shops are dotted around Kilcreggan and the neighbouring 8 villages on this peninsula.

Właśnie spotkaliśmy Malcolma, ponieważ Gauri podróżował, ale był bardzo miły i zaoferował nam wiele dobrych rad, co warto odwiedzić, jak ogród w Linn lub gdzie znaleźć najlepsze ryby i frytki w Szkocji. Pokój był bardzo czysty i wygodny z własną łazienką i niczego nie przegapiliśmy. Chociaż łajno było już mokre i zimne, dawało nam to poczucie prawdziwej Szkocji również podczas spaceru w małym miasteczku. Zdecydowanie polecamy ich miejsce i przyjemnie było spotkać Malcolma i jego urocze koty. Mam nadzieję, że cię kiedyś zobaczę, Malcolm.

  • Co ukrytego skarbu, nie mogło być spokojniejszego, nie mogło być piękniejszego, błyszczącego, czystego, ogromnego pokoju z łazienką do startu! Idealnie położony, aby odkrywać oszałamiające krajobrazy na wyciągnięcie ręki. Malcolm jest także fantastycznym gospodarzem, nic nie było zbyt wielkim problemem, a jego lokalna wiedza była niezwykle cenna. Niestety musiałem wcześnie opuścić jeden dzień wcześniej, a Malcom nawet podwiózł mnie na dworzec kolejowy! Nie mogę się doczekać, aby zatrzymać się ponownie!

    Woodside is a stunning 1850s Victorian mansion. The beautifully renovated top floor apartment has two bedrooms and private bathroom. There is a seating area in the twin bedroom and a tea/coffee/snack area in the hall. An ideal base for visiting the area or for a stop-over. Grounds are extensive and views are breathtaking. Loch Long shore is at the bottom of the garden and there is an enclosed kids play area. Easy access to Loch Lomond, Glasgow, Arrochar Alps, Faslane and Coulport Naval bases.
    Bedroom 1 has a double bed, chest of drawers and dressing table. Views from the window are stunning. Bedroom 2 has two single beds, two comfy chairs, a coffee table and a wall mounted TV. The bathroom has a bath with hand-held shower attachment and, what we think, is possibly the best view from a bathroom in the world! The hallway has a coffee machine, kettle, mini fridge and snacks. There is wifi, internet (apple) TV, central heating with a dedicated thermostat for your apartment. All towels and bedding, crockery and cutlery are provided along with access to a washer and drier. A travel-cot and bedding is available on request. The Airbnb apartment is accessed up a shared staircase (41 stairs) – our family apartment (not Airbnb) is on the floor below. There is an area in the entrance hall for coats, boots and shoes. There is also space for buggies or 2 bikes. The gardens are beautiful and are on ongoing project with many plants of interest. If it is the right season you will be given fruit/veg from the garden and greenhouse. Please be aware there are 41 steps up to the apartment so it may not be suitable for people with limited mobility.
    Shops - Cove Store is about 2 mins drive away. It has beautiful local produce and all general supplies. A small supermarket (Co-Op) is 10 mins drive away in Rosneath and should provide for most needs. Other local amenities include a pharmacy, butchers and bank in Kilcreggan. There are two local cafes and a fine dining hotel all within 10 minutes drive.

There is also a village Shop and Post Office. Dunoon is approximatley 4 Miles, a town bustling with Shops, Cafe's, Pubs, Hotels and a Newly Refurbished Leisure Center and Swimming Pool.

    My attic flat is on the main road in Gourock, it's a short walk to the train station where you can catch a train to Greenock, Paisley (Glasgow Airport), Glasgow and beyond. Busses run towards Glasgow and down the coast to Largs where you can catch the ferry to the scenic isle of Cumbrae. Gourock also has its own ferry terminal for Dunoon. It's an easy drive to the M8, Loch Lomand and the Trossachs. There are numerous bars and restaurants within walking distance to the town centre.
    Gourock has stunning views of the Clyde and the hills and mountains beyond. Battery Park is a short walk where Gourock Highland Games takes place annually. The local ferry travels to Dunoon where the famous Cowal Highland Games takes place. Further down the coast, accessible by bus from the stop nearby the property entrance is Weymms Bay, where you can catch a ferry to the isle of Bute. Further down the coast is Largs where the isle of Cumbrae hosts the annual country and western weekend event in Millport.
