The Old Farrowings is a luxury peaceful cottage, restored and converted to a very high standard, set within 100 acres of private grounds.
There is a south-facing private patio area, with table, chairs and barbeque with stunning views overlooking the hills. Private tennis court (rackets and balls available). Walk via footpath to the village pub or hotel for excellent food and drinks.
The Old Farrowings has accommodation all on one level apart from 2 steps which lead into the bedroom. Fully equipped with free Wifi , Nespresso coffee machine, dishwasher, wood-burning stove with basket of logs and kindling, TV, DVD and CD/Radio/iPod docking station. Large selection of board games, jigsaws, DVD's and walking guides.
The bedroom has a king-sized 4-poster bed with goose-down duvet, feather pillows & 100% cotton linen. There is a TV with DVD in the bedroom as well as an antique sofa. En-suite bathroom with bath, separate shower (not power shower), hand-basin & loo with a heated towel rail. Soft white fluffy towels and complimentary 'Au Lait' toiletries.
Walk directly from your back door to historic village of Hartington, the River Dove and beyond. Explore the Georgian Market town of Ashbourne (Gateway to the Peak District) and the Spa town of Buxton, famous for its' annual Opera Festival. Forage for antiques in Leek. Derbyshire's jewel, Chatsworth House is just 20 minutes drive.
Plenty of secure storage for bikes. A central laundry area has a washing machine, tumble dryer and ironing board and also a pay phone.
Mobile phone signal can be patchy depending on your network - reasonable coverage for O2 and Orange/EE. Free Wifi.

Enjoy playing tennis on our court and feel free to wander around our land. We have a private footpath that leads you down to Biggin Dale and from there you can head to Wolfscote Dale, the River Dove, Hartington and beyond. Walk from the cottage to The Waterloo Inn in the village for a home-cooked meal and there is also Biggin Hall to eat at.
