Beautiful double room with stunning en suite bathroom in a lovely old detached house surrounded by glorious gardens. Breakfast included. A charming village setting, just off the village green, 8 miles from the centre of York (so you need a car).
Our house, in the village of Elvington, was built in 1806 from the local York brick and retains much of its cottagey character. There is a large garden to the front, and an even larger one to the rear. The house is furnished with a mix of antique and modern furniture. There's plenty of room in the four-bedroomed house, especially since our grown-up daughters have long moved out. The recently refurbished village pub, which serves food, is just 2 minutes away! There's also another pub in the next village that serves very good food (5 mins drive).
The lovely double bedroom has exposed beams, and a fantastic en suite bathroom, with wooden floor, claw foot bath and art deco furnishings. Guests are welcome to enjoy our glorious garden. Breakfast is served in our dining room, or on warm days in the garden.
