Our luxury Edwardian home is in the heart of Seaview village, 3 minutes from the beach & shops. With 4 double bedrooms & foldaway beds it sleeps 8 normally and 10 comfortably.

With lots of living space, big sun terrace & 3 bathrooms it adds up to a carefree, luxurious holiday!

We do accept midweek breaks (4 sometimes 3 night minimum) but you will be charged one night at the weekend rate, so please be aware of this.


Carisbrooke is an Edwardian home in a quiet, secure cul de sac, which is fully-fitted as a modern convenient home.

It is our family seaside home where we have brought up the children; we use it regularly ourselves and have worked hard to make it a home that can be easily enjoyed by all who stay here.

It has a beautiful, sunlit kitchen/dining area which can seat 12 inside and sun terrace outside which has heaters for those cool summer evenings and seating for 10.

Importantly, it also has 2 drawing rooms with separate TVs/DVDs for families who do not always wish to be together.

And...3 bathrooms, all with power showers, to service the 4 upstairs double bedrooms (2 twins and 2 doubles + 2 foldaway beds according to need).

So, Carisbrooke sleeps 8 with options for 2 others (probably children) in foldaway beds.

The Master bedroom has en suite bathroom and excellent views down the Solent. On Saturday evenings you can see the great liners as they surge westwards towards their next port of call.

Carisbrooke is a semi-detached property with off street parking, its own front door access up a few steps and also access up the side path - ideal for young children and the elderly.

It has its own good sized garden mostly laid to lawn at the back.

There is a sun parasol in the garden table and cushions are in the shed so they remain dry.

There is one locked cupboard in the master bedroom with a few personal effects.

With WiFi access and mobile phones we expect the landline to remain unused for outbound calls.

We are unlikely to be present or nearby during your stay; we do have a Housekeeper who can run through how to work apparatus ( water) and ensure that you are settled in OK and to ensure all is in order on your day of departure.

Booking during weekdays (i.e. Sunday to Thursday): we will always include one premium weekend night in the rental charge. If you wish to stay from Monday to Friday,say, the cost for one of those nights will be substituted for the prevailing rate fora Friday or Saturday.

There is a key safe by the back door so you can get in on arrival.

PLEASE NOTE YOU NEED TO BRING YOUR OWN TOWELS - unless you make a specific request which will incur an additional charge: these towels are for domestic not beach use.

We will forward all those details, including the key safe code, closer to the time of your stay with us.

We can accept dogs: on a case by case basis; generally one only and with a charge/visit of £35 (double if staying longer than 7 days).

If you wish to arrive on a different day to normal (Friday), ask us and we will see what we can do.

You can park a car off-street too. There is plenty of parking in the street.

We would expect guests to treat our home the way they treat their own.

There is a policy of charging any midweek stays to include 1 night at the weekend rate.

Bank Holidays will also be treated at the weekend rate; we would expect to agree a 4 night minimum stay in most weeks.

If you book for weekdays only (i.e Monday-Thursday, one day minimum is to be charged at the weekend day rate.

There is a minimum additional charge for more than 8 Guests of £30/night/Guest.

We expect to supply (liquid) soap and some toilet paper as well as all the basic cleaning materials you may need.

We do not supply groceries,however: there is a decent grocery store in Nettlestone (5 mins drive up Steyne Rd towards St Helens) and an enormous Tesco Extra 10 minutes away.

Of course, you may order groceries online:Tesco certainly deliver; ditto Sainsbury. These should be delivered to suit your arrival.

Pets are allowed on request: we would generally charge a small fee c£35.

Smoking is allowed but it is preferred if the terrace is used (and the butts collected, please).

The Isle of Wight Council has a slightly complex refuse collection system: on Monday mornings. Details are in the folder:basically different types of rubbish on alternate Monday mornings (by c 9am).

Seaview has little crime in the 50 years we have been in the village....however, we do recommend you lock both front, back and double doors when you are out. Best to be safe than sorry.

Second time back to Seaview since I spent majority of summer holidays here as a kid through 80s/90s. Now with toddler of our own in tow, finding suitable accom was high priority. What a place. Comfortable, well-equipped and ideally located for all the beaches and other amenities the village and surrounding island has to offer. Belinda always helpful and was kind enough to 'ignore' the fact our daughter decapitated a wooden duck. Few minutes' walk from the slipway at the seafront (next to Old Fort restaurant) and 10-15 minutes walk-with-buggy to the larger, sandy Seagrove beach. Highly recommend this place for families with children of all ages, and larger groups.

The house is great, fabulous location for Seaview, plenty of space, easy to park, good little back garden. Worked well for me with the kids and grandparents, lots of space to relax and a great base for exploring the island. Belinda was a great host, easy to access the house, good communication before we arrived and she even checked we had got into the house and were settled.

We used this house to take a group of clients out to the Seaview Regatta and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their stay - we will be back next year Belinda!

We had a super stay at this house. It is a really roomy and comfortable house, a quiet location yet very close to the sea and town centre amenities. Great open plan kitchen/dining room. It was a lovely base from which to explore the island.

The house was exactly as advertised and thoroughly clean throughout. In an quiet location with a perfect short walk to the beach. My children had a fantastic time and I would recommend this property and would definitely look to stay here again. Brilliant holiday

Jonathan and I have lived in Putney for 20 years and our family are now largely grown up. We have a second home on the Isle of Wight which we have owned for over 20 years and also rent out: worth checking out.

Putney is a great jumping off point for airports and the West End; parking is good and it has been great for the children's schooling. Shopping is good;restaurants and pubs are good value and varied;there are good local theatres as well.

We enjoy tennis, skiing, sailing and now golf. I play bridge and row regularly on the Thames. We laugh a lot - we should:our eldest son Max is a professional comedian and presenter.

Jonathan is a qualified Tour Guide and is available for London walking tours and talks around London: so we have a vast knowledge of the history and heritage of Britain. Please talk to us if you wish to use this service.

We try to keep our home as informal and friendly as we can. For instance, if we can, we will give you a lift up to the station.

We have traveled extensively around the world,including the States, Canada, Australia & New Zealand. Jonathan's business took him all around Africa too. We recently went to Nepal and are planning a trip to South America in 2015.
