Hi German. Thanks for your feedback. I’m sorry that your stay in our home did not match your expectations. We find that the very occasional possible negative review happens when guest expectations are different from what they find upon arrival. For this reason we ask all guests to confirm they have read the whole profile before we accept any bookings. You duly confirmed this during pre-booking email communication as follows “With this mail I confirm that I have read the whole profile” However, it was clear by the type of questions that were being asked upon arrival that not all members of your party had read the whole listing/profile or had the contents of the listing communicated to them by you. For example the location seemed to be a surprise to some in your party. I’m not sure if I can do anything about the location of our home. Many guests find that the location is convenient compromise between distance to town (5mins walk & 15mins on bus) and closeness (5 minutes walk) to all London bus stops (airport and central London) Additionally, rules around your private bathroom showering finishing by 10pm are published on our listing in the ‘house rules’ section. If you are not happy with the rules then your option is to decide to not book with us (instead of booking and then complaining which puts us in an awkward position) We find that many guests value clear house rules and guidance as this enables the sharing of our home to go smoothly for the benefit of both guests and hosts. Some house rules may be necessary for your benefit but not immediately apparent why this is the case (eg making sure we don’t run out of hot water) I wonder if one person in your party made the booking and read the whole profile and a different person in your booking wrote the review? I’m not sure I can do anything about this particular scenario As you stated, Air bnb is about sharing and we provide a lot of information in the early e mails just in case we don’t have much time to spend with you. We are also clear that our house is a busy family home and I am sorry that we didn’t get to spend any time with you and your family as I am sure it would have made your experience much more pleasant. Thinking back, we spent less than 5 minutes in each others company (this being with all 6 of us altogether, standing in the hallway). I wonder how long is long enough to understand and get to know a host properly? I would hope that with future hosts you would allow longer than a busy couple of minutes standing in a hallway before you make a lasting judgement. It was unfortunate that you were not able to share breakfast with us. If you had been able to share our free breakfast, you would have found that we as hosts have many qualities of kindness, local knowledge, guidance, advice, support, warmth and understanding. Airbnb is also about understanding, maturity, emotional intelligence and communication. I wish you well in your future Airbnb adventures.
