A clean & secluded camper on private land beside a 1-room schoolhouse from the 1800's. A great location for a couple’s retreat or a family getaway. Enjoy a walk to the creek where you can wade or set your beach chair in the cool and refreshing water. Take a hike up the steep hill behind the camper to see a spectacular view of Chimney Rock. Join us (& our dogs) for a morning hike in the woods. Or simply relax in the peace and quiet the country has to offer. Harrisonburg is only 25 minutes away.

Miejsce
We upgraded the space to a bigger camper as of August 2020. The new space is a 28’ Jayco bunkhouse slide and is quite comfortable for a family of 5. It will accommodate 6 or 7 if you utilize the sofa and dinette as extra sleeping areas, but we don’t really recommend this. If you need more space, feel free to bring a tent. It is a great location to enjoy some solitude yet close enough to neighboring towns to plan some fun activities. We will provide sheets, towels, kitchen towels, a charcoal grill, outdoor dining table with umbrella & chairs, a fire pit, plenty of firewood, a coffee pot, kitchenware, cooking utensils, plates, bowls, cups, utensils, coffee cups (for 6 people) and RV toilet paper. There is a 300 gallon water tank so there is ample water for short showers and washing dishes. It is unfiltered well water and though safe to use, does not taste good to drink. You will need to bring clothes, toiletries (& bug spray), food and drinking water. You will also need to bring your own charcoal, lighter fluid and BBQ spatula if you plan to use the grill. ** IMPORTANT NOTE: In order to better protect our guests while the Coronavirus is still prevalent, we are asking guests to bring their own blankets (or sleeping bags) and pillows. We also recommend bringing board games, cards, books and/or DVDs as we have temporarily removed all non-essential items from the camper. We apologize for any inconvenience but we want our guests to be safe. We will continue to provide kitchenware and tableware and will wash everything in our dishwasher after each booking. Sheets and towels will be washed in hot water and dried on high heat between bookings. The camper is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected after each booking. Nearby Harrisonburg has an abundance of restaurants, shops and even some local wineries and breweries. It is an easy and scenic drive to countless tourist attractions, including Shenandoah National Park, two 4-season resorts (Massanutten and Bryce), museums, caverns, orchards, and vineyards (just to name a few). Just be sure to call first to make sure your destination is open and to find out what sort of Covid restrictions are in place.

Dostęp dla gości
Guests will have use of the entire camper and plenty of outdoor space. There is a queen bed that is separated from the rest of the camper by a curtain for some privacy. There is a bunk in the back of the camper that has a full bed on the bottom and a twin bed on top. This area sleeps 3 comfortably. There is also a dinette that can be made into a bed that can accommodate a child (or perhaps 2 if they are small) and a sofa that folds down that can sleep one extra person. We strongly recommend that no more than 5 stay in the camper, as living space gets pretty tight if the dinette and couch are converted to sleeping areas. We will provide sheets for the queen bed, the full bunk and the twin bunk. If you plan to use the couch and/or dinette as sleeping areas, you will need to provide your own linens for these areas. There is plenty of room to set up a tent outdoors near the camper (if you want to bring one for more sleeping room).

IMPORTANT: During these times of Covid-19, we are asking guests to bring their own blankets (or sleeping bags) and pillows. We also recommend bringing board games, cards, books and/or DVDs as we have temporarily removed all non-essential items from the camper. During colder months, bad weather may impact your ability to drive to the camper. If it snows, we will plow the road open as soon as the snow stops. Worst case scenario, you can park on the hill at our house and walk to the camper, or we can take you there in a 4x4.

Fulks Run, Virginia, Stany Zjednoczone

Fulks Run is a small town so if quiet is what you're after, you'll find it here. The town of Broadway is a short 5-minute drive away and here you can find several good restaurants, a local library, various parks with playgrounds, and a community pool. Check out https://www.town.broadway.va.us/events.html to see what's happening. New Market is about a 15-minute drive, and here you will find the New Market battlefield and Civil War Museum. We are also an easy drive to Harrisonburg, Staunton, Woodstock, Luray, and Mathias (WV). There is plenty to do in the Valley and Fulks Run is a great place to stay while you enjoy it all!

Hi, I'm Joyce and am delighted to be hosting this Airbnb. I grew up a Navy "brat" and then became a Marine wife. When my husband and I first started dating, he brought me to this place where he grew up and I immediately fell in love with it and knew that Fulks Run would become my forever home. My husband and I have 3 grown children and are excited to become first-time grandparents in June 2019! We enjoy traveling the country in our motorhome and especially enjoy visiting out west (the Badlands of South Dakota has been one of our favorite places to visit thus far). Other than traveling, I enjoy making homemade soaps, lotions, beard balm and lip balm using some of the wild plants that grow here on our property. My husband gathers them and makes tinctures from them, and then I use them to make my products. I also enjoy reading, hiking, riding my bike (preferably on a beach somewhere!), spending time with my kids and their families, going out and having new adventures with my friends, or just relaxing in the back yard around the fire pit.
