Miejsce
Welcome to Pachamama Forestation Project

This is an alcohol and drug-free space.
All communal meals are plant based.

Camping is available at R100 per person per day.

To make your stay more enjoyable and to ensure that you receive the maximum benefit from your time here, we would like to give you a little information about the facilities here and how everything works.

The Water System/ Drinking Water
All the Water on the Land is Rain Water. We have limited water storage capacity and collect all water used from the structures on the land. We ask that you use the water consciously and conservatively when washing or cleaning, for example not leaving the taps running when brushing your teeth or taking short and efficient showers. The water is good to drink.

Fire Consciousness
As we live in a forest and many of the facilities are made from wood and other flammable materials, we ask that you be mindful of lighting any fires on the land.

When lighting a fire, gas lamp or candle, please do not leave the fire unattended. When lighting a large fire in the Yoga Hall or outside, please spread the coals out and put it out with sand before leaving the fire. We also ask that you do not use candles in the cabins but rather use the solar jars provided.

The Kitchen
The Kitchen is the center of all gatherings. It is a bring and share kitchen. We pay special attention to eating sustainably grown, non-gmo fresh produce and try to eat from the Pachamama garden as much as possible.

General Cleanliness
As the Kitchen is a communal space, we ask that you make an effort to clean up after yourself and keep the space and all the cooking utensils in order and clean so that others may also enjoy their time in the kitchen.

Monkeys Visiting
Being mindful of the fact that we are situated in a natural forest environment that is also home to monkeys and other animals, we ask that you are aware of keeping the doors closed when no-one is in the kitchen and when the Monkeys are visiting the land.

Communal cooking and sharing of meals
As a community, we often come together to cook and spend time together at least once a day to share what we have done that day and to set intentions for the next day. When running exchange programs we share breakfast and lunch together, and during other periods at Pachamama, we often have a communal dinner.

The Compost Toilets
The toilets are man-managed compost toilets. They need to be used properly by everyone in the community to be effective. We ask that you please maintain the cleanliness of the space for all who use the toilets.

The Fire Heated Showers
At Pachamama, we have three outdoor showers that are powered by a fire. Water needs to be pumped into the boiler first – the switch for the pump can be located in the kitchen. If you would like to take a shower, check in with everyone on the land to coordinate a time that best suits everyone and to let everyone know that you will be making the fire.

The Huts
The wooden Cabins are spaces for rest and relaxation. The bedding, solar jars and clothes hangers are provided by Pachamama for your benefit and ease of stay. We ask that you please leave these in the Cabins when you depart for the next person to enjoy. We also ask that you give your room a light clean and conscious sweep over before leaving to make sure you leave it the way you found it and that you do not leave any of your possessions behind.

Please be mindful when walking around the cabins when guests and visitors are staying on the land, as they may be resting or enjoying some quiet time to themselves.

The Dharma Yoga/Meditation Hall
The Dharma Hall is a sacred healing space that is used for healing ceremonies, yoga, meditation and sound journeys. We ask that you respect the space and be conscious of your energy, thoughts and emotions when in the space; as each person that moves through that space infuses the space with their energy, and this energy is felt by all those that enter it.

You are welcome to use this space for your own meditation and yoga. We ask that you respect everyone in the space when using It; such as being quiet and mindful of your movements if someone is busy meditating and by cleaning up after yourselves, – packing away your cushions, cleaning up any incense and the fireplace or restocking the candles and incense, as well as sweeping and mopping the floors.

About the Pachamama Whatsapp Group
There is a Whatsapp Group for everyone that is staying on the land and for people on exchange programs with Pachamama. You will be added to this Whatsapp group upon arrival. Please only use this group for questions, photos and information related to the functioning of the community and retreat space.

About the garden
The Pachamama Food Garden is managed by Chris and Dylan. We use the Garden to grow many of our herbs and other fresh vegetables. If you would like to help out in the Garden please speak to Chris/Dylan about when this would be suitable and what work needs to be done. If you would like to harvest something from the Garden, you should check with Chris or Dylan to make sure that the specific vegetables or herbs are ready for harvest and are not already being used.

Dostęp dla gości
Pachamama land is 9 hectares (23 acres) and the surrounding pine plantation and indigenous forest bordering the land are beautiful to walk in.

The Homtini river is a 1 km walk through the indigenous forest. The water is cold but always flowing. A fantastic private swimming spot.
