We absolutely fell in love with Sea Horses the first time we saw it and we think you will too. Tucked away in the heart of old Port Isaac our period cottage is just a stone's throw from the stunning harbour and restaurants but set back enough to enjoy privacy and peace. The cottage is ideal for a family or couples. With a wood burning stove for those chilly winter evenings and a small courtyard and lovely garden to enjoy alfresco dining on a warm summers day it's the perfect year round property.

On entering the pretty slate fronted cottage you’ll find yourself in a beamed open plan living/dining area offering the perfect place to relax or dine. There is Wi-Fi, a TV and DVD player and a log burning stove for winding down after the day’s activities.
The sleeping accommodation offers a spacious king double, a twin and a bunk bed room which are bright and comfortable. There is also a well appointed family bathroom with an electric shower over the bath.
The kitchen is modern with all the features you would expect including a range style cooker, microwave and dishwasher. Other facilities include fridge/freezer and washer/dryer.
For families with young children there’s a travel cot, high-chair and stair-gate – available for your use for free - along with a selection of toys and DVD’s to keep them entertained.
All in all, Sea Horses offers’ a perfect year-round haven in an idyllic location, whether it’s a romantic weekend away for two, or a family holiday.
You are welcome to drive down to the cottage to Load and unload however there is very little parking in the lower village . There are however two large car parks in the upper village which is about a 10 minute walk. There are also often free on road parking options in the upper village. hourly, Daily and weekly parking passes are available in the Council run car parks.
Dostęp dla gości
You will be renting the whole property in addition to the small private courtyard which is accessed off the kitchen. There is a good sized private garden which, in true Port Isaac fashion is not attached but located just a few yards away from Seahorses. The garden has seating and grass areas.
Inne ważne rzeczy
The cottage is set in the heart of the old quarters of Port Isaac (lower village) and as such was not really designed with cars in mind. You are however able to drive up to the cottage (within about 5 meters) for loading and unloading. To park your car there are a number of options at the top of the Village. The main carpark is Trewetha which is operated by Parkonomy. There is also the New Road long term car park operated by Cornwall Council. You are able to prepay for parking tickets at both car parks. Please visit their websites for details.

It is believed that much of the lower part of the village was built in the times of Henry VIII. Port Isaac can be translated from Cornish as Corn Port indicating its importance as a grain port from the surrounding arable inland areas. The village enjoyed continued success through the C18th and C19th trading in a range of cargos many of which would have been transported down through the narrow alleyways for which Port Isaac is famous.
More recently the village has been the backdrop for ITV series Doc Martin and the Fishermans Friends continue to sing sea shanties regularly at the slipway.
There are a range of shops, including a well stocked local Co-op, and restaurants in the village to suit all pockets. These have recently been joined by local Chef Nathan Outlaw with his Michelin starred seafood restaurant and his tapas-style Fish Kitchen (book ahead if you are thinking of eating there) .
Port Gaverne with its excellent pub and new restaurant is a short walk away in the next inlet. The fabulous beaches of Polzeath, Daymer Bay and Rock are within a short drive (10-15mins). And for more extensive shopping Wadebridge & Padstow are easily accessible. Local activities available include the North Cornwall Coastal path for walks with stunning scenery. You can surf, paddle board or body board in Polzeath, and wind surf and kite surf at Daymer Bay. You can sign up for Sailing or Powerboating courses in Rock. Local companies also offer wildlife safaris, kayaking and coasteering.
