Bathurst cottage lies deep within the heart of the Bathurst Estate or Cirencester Park, as it’s known locally, one of Gloucestershire’s most historic privately owned estates covering about 16,000 acres of the County and family seat of The Earls & Countesses Bathurst since 1695. The cottage was completely renovated in 2013 by the current Countess Bathurst, and transformed into a gorgeous 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage with no expense spared. The cottage comes complete with wood buring stove, a stunning kitchen, creating a stylish interior without losing any of its history or charm. Bathurst Cottage is a beautiful Cotswold Stone ‘Arts & Crafts’ period building dating back to 1908, named after The 1st Baron Apsley (The 2nd Earl Bathurst) and originally designed by Lilias, Countess Bathurst, the wife of The 7th Earl and it nestles in the heart of the village of Sapperton. Within a short walk is the award winning village pub, The Bell at Sapperton. The Bell is a charming pub with a range of fine ales, wines and an extensive menu with locally sourced produce. There are roaring log fires and cosy corners in the winter, and a beautifully landscaped garden and courtyard for the summer. All guests staying during the summer months will be able to enjoy watching polo with a free complimentary membership to Cirencester Park Polo Club, where top international players and possibly a Prince take part in this exciting equestrian sport. As members you will be able to park in the Members Enclosure and enjoy the Members Restaurant and Bar.

Bathurst Cottage benefits from an ideal location within the village of Sapperton with many lovely walks literally on your doorstep but also centrally located to explore the rest of the Cotswolds. Within a 10 minute drive you can reach the market town of Cirencester, the capital of the Cotswolds. You can spend your time browsing through the many boutique shops or have a drink at one of the fine pubs or restaurants on offer. A short drive away is the market town of Tetbury with its many antique shops where you can spend an afternoon exploring or visit the private residence of Prince Charles & Camilla at Highgrove Gardens. Within an hours drive you can reach many of the renowned Cotswold villages and towns such as Bibury, Burford, Stow-on-the-Wold, Cheltenham, Bourton-on-the-Water and Bath. For the more adventurous you can access all the activities the Cotswold Water Park has to offer including waterskiing, wakeboarding, paddle boarding, horse riding, golfing, fishing and even paint balling.

Bathurst Cottage is unique and has been renovated and furnished with style to ensure every guests stay is a memorable, comfortable and enjoyable one. Pets are also allowed and welcomed in the local village pub.
