Hello Mike! I am so sorry to hear this! We strive to keep the communication and feedback of our hostel open and honest!
However, Melissa (the cohost) checked in with you through 5 Airbnb messages and multiple home checks (as hosts do) during your stay to clean, stock and check in on our guests and she didn’t mention heaing anything about this feedback. She even messaged to you that she deep cleans every two weeks, to let her know if you needed anything. Your reply was that everything was great and thanked her profusely for coming to do an extra clean up, bought you candy and cream (due to a stray cat).
Please in the future, it would help so much for you to communicate to the hosts when these issues arise during your stay, so we may address them for you as well as future guests! This makes everyone’s experience overall the best that it can be! Am we have absolutely no problem doing what it takes to meet your needs!
The bed is a loft bed (the home is a hostel) and affords the room more versatility for our guests! We can make more comfortable arrangements for a desk underneath or an air mattress or trundle for more guests when people travel in pairs ;) since we host long term this is the smartest option for use of space!
I am confused about the smell. The entire house had professional carpet cleaning, deep cleaning throughout and is also newly painted in every room in the house. Also, very sorry to hear about that. There was no odor before your arrival in the room. Melissa mentioned that it smelled like a wet towel and deodorized. (Maybe sweat? Memory foam has that effect!) So I feel bad we couldn’t figure it out before your stay! :(
I am thankful for your feedback!
