Eastfield Lodge is a charming Victorian House with 8 beautiful bedrooms all ensuite. The communal dining room and lounge overlook Wensleydale and the hills beyond. This, once family home, is ideal for gatherings of all generations, walking and cycling groups or just friends getting together for reunions, birthdays or anniversaries.
The Lodge can be booked for a 'self-catered' stay for up to 16 people. After booking you have the opportunity to convert your stay to a 'hosted option.

Miejsce
If you wish the 'self-catered' option, the online booking system will automatically default to this. Here you can book for up to 16 people, if you wish to bring more we can provide an extra divan, futons and camp bed at an extra cost of £25pppn for the self-catered option or £40pppn for the hosted option. Please let us know of any extras after making your initial booking of 16, or alternatively make an enquiry first. With the 'self-catered' option we'll generally be here to welcome you, then let you settle yourselves in and relax. You have the local shops and restaurants in the town to help with your independent catering needs throughout your stay. We are happy to order in for you any of the local produce we use in the Lodge through our suppliers so after your booking confirmation, please just give us a call to discuss this. You can then be left to your own devices but feel free to ask for advice on walks, places to visit or activities. We live next door but there is also a wealth of information in the Lodge. At certain times of year you can opt for the 'hosted' option, please make your booking online as above. Then in order to confirm this option (which cannot be done online,) please contact us using the lodge details on your email booking confirmation. With the hosted choice, we will cook and serve your group with a delicious Yorkshire breakfast each morning, provide tea and coffee facilities in your rooms and in the lounge, a freshly baked cake or home made cookies each afternoon, an evening meal from our menu choices on request for which there is a further charge, light the lounge fire in the winter months and give your room a light clean each day. By having a chat, we can tailor make your stay for you, especially if it's a special occasion.
(The additional cost of a hosted stay varies according to the time of year and will be charged 30 days prior to arrival.
With either option you can expect genuine hospitality. Laughter throughout the house is often a theme. We love to offer themed weekends, such as a Murder Mystery or possibly a Paddle & Picnic trip from Ripon to Boroughbridge or to take you on a guided walk to see the very best of the area. If it is a special occasion, we can bring in a Chef for your own private dining. Please just ask.
At Christmas the house can be booked on a self-catering basis only for a minimum of 4 nights.

Dostęp dla gości
Guests will be able to use the entire house including the kitchen for self-catering. With the 'hosted option' we will cook breakfast and supply a cake in the afternoon. The lounge has tea & coffee making facilities, but you will not have access to the kitchen, the lounge has a nice wood-burner for the winter months and fridge for storing drinks and food etc. We will undertake all washing up and clearing away at regular intervals.

Inne ważne rzeczy
We allow up to 4 dogs when the 'hosted' option has been chosen. We have two dog friendly rooms in the house. There is a one-off charge of £10 per dog. Unfortunately we do not allow dogs for self-catered bookings. This is because of food hygiene regulations as we offer 'hosted' options also.

North Yorkshire, Anglia, Wielka Brytania

Wensleydale, one of the very few dales not to be named after the river which flows through it, is perhaps the most celebrated of all the Dales. It lies inside the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Famous for James Herriot and All Creatures Great and Small filmed in nearby Askrigg, Wallace and Grommit, who so loved the local cheese and most importantly for it’s dramatic and outstanding natural beauty, for which it was recognised as an AONB site in 1994. The imposing Castle Bolton, where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned and ruins of Middleham Castle , the childhood home of Richard III, are both within a 20 minutes drive.

At Eastfield Lodge we are in an ideal location, just 5 minutes walk into the traditional market square of this thriving, pretty town with its independent shops, including Campbells, an award-winning supermarket and wine and spirit merchant family run since 1868. There is a weekly market, attractive tearooms, four pubs, bakeries, local butcher and a traditional sweet shop. Leyburn regularly draws in the local people, who use the town to go about their daily business. Tennents, the largest family owned auctioneers in the UK, have frequent sales and events less than a 10 minute walk from the lodge.

Eastfield Lodge is the perfect springboard for exploring this diverse area, whether you venture out on foot, by car or step-back-in-time on the Wensleydale Railway, a tourist line which stops just less than 400m from here before heading west into the Dales National Park. We are also lucky enough to have the regular Little White Dales Bus services, recently featured on Countryfile.

The renowned Leyburn ‘Shawl’, just a short walk from the Market Place, gives superb views over Wensleydale and is the starting point for many beautiful walks. Hardraw Force, the highest unbroken waterfall in England, is located near Hawes, whilst Aysgarth Falls are famous for their beauty, attracting visitors from afar, partly because they were featured in the film Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves. One of the most unusual river suspension bridges in England built in 1829, crosses the River Ure to link Leyburn to Middleham, another pretty town to the East. Walkers and cyclists love this county. The Tour de France and Tour de Yorkshire (taking on the infamous Buttertubs Pass) have truly put us on the map for those who love cycling but there is so much variety nearby that there is something here for everyone.
