I am sorry you felt this way but, my Kitchen is filled with history not racism. The 1930 photo was of a midwife delivering a baby. I am a midwife so this is symbolic to me. As you may not be aware midwives are what used to delivery babies. Not all women went to Doctors years back. Most women delivered in their home with other women delivering the baby. (A midwife) Most of the back faced dolls are from other places that my husband and myself have been. These places were mostly places where people of color lived. These were places like Jamaica, Mexico, St Thomas, St. Martin and Barbados. These are souvenirs of our travels. I have never been racist nor will I ever be. The Aunt Jemima is also history. If you remember that used to be and still is pancake syrup. I do not discriminate between race, religion, or sexual orientation. Our house is not filled with hate. We fill our house with Love. That is why we open it up to complete strangers to stay when needed.
The place on the on the sheet was a small stain not dried blood. The sheets you slept on were put on your bed 1 hour before you arrived. The were freshly washed.
The outside of the bedroom door do have holes on them but they are not through and through so your privacy was not at risk. The places are from when my boys were growing up.
Again, I am sorry yo felt this way!!!!
