Stay inside Kings Canyon National Park! Rent a room in my cozy cabin, located within the boundaries of the park in Grant Grove. I'm 5 minutes from Grant Grove Village, the Grant Tree, and other giant sequoias, and 45 minutes from Sequoia NP.
**Please** read my entire listing and house rules before booking. My place is rustic. No kitchen access. A max of 2 guests total, including children. A 10% county tax must be collected on arrival. No male solo travelers. Please don't book for other people.
My space is unique, because it is a room inside a historic, rustic cabin on private property in a quiet village - located INSIDE Kings Canyon National Park. This is a rustic cabin in the woods and is an opportunity for you to get away to the quietness of the forest.
The room is attached to a private porch, with table and chairs, where you can sit with a cup of coffee and enjoy watching the birds and deer.
My room is set up a bit like a hotel room. There is a bed, side table, chairs, mini fridge, and coffee maker. It's a small space and not really set up for preparing meals. I don't mind if you eat in the room, but there's not much meal-prep space and there's not a place to wash dishes. And there's no kitchen access. For your convenience, you might consider eating at the nearby restaurant.
You have a private entrance and a porch to yourself. Guests have access to a bathroom that is shared with the host. Towels are provided. No toiletries are included, so please bring your own shampoo and soap.
There is a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee/tea maker, and water cooler in the guest room. Coffee, tea, sugar, powdered cream, and coffee cups are provided. There is no access to the kitchen. If you plan to eat food in the room, there is not a way to wash dishes - I suggest that you bring disposable plates and utensils. There is a restaurant nearby for dining.
There is a fan, space heater, and an extra blanket in the room. There are maps, hiking books, and board games that you are welcome to use.

I work at the park, so I'm happy to provide advice and recommendations if wanted.

You must pay a $30 per vehicle entrance fee to Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Park to stay with me. The fee is not part of the accommodations. The fee is good for 7 days and covers both parks.
I'm sorry, but there is no internet service to provide for you. The bathroom is SHARED with the host.
This is a small, quiet, rustic cabin in the woods. It is cute, clean, and basic. You're paying a higher rate than other places on Airbnb, because of location (in the middle of a national park). If you're looking for "fancy" lodging, you can check at the nearby park lodge ($212 a night). Before booking with me, please make sure you know what you're booking. If you want to stay in a quiet cabin in the woods, then you're in luck! If you are expecting a big room with fancy amenities, you'll be disappointed...and we'll all be unhappy in the end. PLEASE: don't book with me expecting more, and then complain or leave me a poor review because there weren't more amenities. This is not a "value" property compared to other private rooms on Airbnb. It's priced a bit higher because of location, but it's lower than the nearby lodge. If you're looking for cheap lodging, your best bet is Fresno.
A lot of people ask about the 10% occupancy tax that I must collect from guests. This is a tax that my local county requires, and is fairly common on Airbnb. And yes, it's legit and I'm allowed to collect it. If you have questions about it, please look at this link from Airbnb: www.airbnb.com/help/article/654/what-is-occupancy-tax--do-i-need-to-collect-or-pay-it
- A 10% occupancy tax must be collected, payable directly to the host at check in ($10 total per night).
- Maximum of 2 guests, including children.
- No solo male travelers.
- No drugs, including marijuana.
- The person booking the reservation MUST be present to check in and stay in the accommodations. You may not book for other people or family members. If you book for other people and you are not present, those people will not be allowed to check in and your payment will be forfeited.
**Anyone making a reservation under false pretenses will forfeit the advance payment and will not be permitted to check in.
I love to travel! My favorite type of traveling is when I get to stay in a country for several weeks, so that I can get to know the area a bit. Some of my favorite places have been US national parks, Alaska, Ecuador, Peru, and France. I look forward to seeing more of the world!
I also love hosting people in my cozy cabin. It's fun to meet people from all over the world, and hear their stories.
