Ferndale Cottage lies within a small village of Musbury. A short walk away to having a picnic and dip at Whitford river, finding fabulous local bread, eggs and relaxing walks all around the countryside.
The gorgeous beaches are close by -
Seaton 10 mins in car, Lyme regis 12 mins, Beer 14 mins, Branscombe 16 mins. River Cottage canteen and the HQ restaurant is 7-9 mins drive away.
So, If you are looking for countryside views, but near to beaches, then my place is well worth a visit.
Ferndale Cottage was renovated a few years ago for long term tenants. Early February 2017, the cottage was refurbished for air bnb and has turned into a lovely cosy character cottage, very practical for guests and a relaxing place to stay.
A great position in the village, looking right out onto the countryside.
A large, light living room with a cosy Charnwood wood-burning stove in a feature fireplace. The cottage also has gas central heating.
There is a collection of kids books, DVD's and games.
My daughter and I have a fab game for the kiddies... to find 10 named elephants in the house! kids and adults love it!
Downstairs bathroom with mains fed shower over the bath.
The spacious kitchen/diner includes a dishwasher, combination microwave, radio and all the necessary things for the kitchen. Also has a table and chairs for 4 people.
Central heating, iron and ironing board, clothes drying racks.
If you wish to use a washing machine or tumble dryer - the good news is I live next door, so you are welcome to use the goods in my utility if required.
The conservatory opens out to a paved courtyard with side access. There is a table, chairs and bench to sit out and chill.
Also a washing line is available.
The stairs are fairly steep which needs mentioning.
There are 2 double bedrooms. Bedroom 1 has a Vi-Sprung luxury bed for comfort. The second bedroom has a small double, but can fit 2 people. Both having country side views.
Both rooms have one water bottle for your use.
If you wish to borrow a hairdryer, please let me know in advance.
A cute private courtyard with a bench, table and 2 chairs for somewhere to sit and relax.
There is one parking space next to courtyard, and also parking on the road by the house.
I would love for you to stay at my cottage... it's lovely.
Musbury is a pretty East Devon village situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are a range of amenities locally, including a Spar shop who does amazing bread, petrol station, village hall and pub.
You can walk up to the village to the church, the park for children with amazing views and even further up the hill to the ruins of Musbury Castle where you can see all around (see pics)
Only a lovely short walk the other way to Whitford river see pics.
I am only a 9 minute drive (5.7 miles) from the famous River Cottage HQ in Axminster. A perfect location whilst on a course.
Only, 7 minute drive (3.3 miles) from the River Cottage Canteen and Deli.
The village is on the local bus route to nearby towns, including Axminster, where the station is on the main line to Exeter and to London Waterloo; the M5 and A303 are also easily accessible.
It is only 3 miles from the town of Colyton with the renowned Colyton Grammar School, one of the highest ranked schools in the country.

Access is by a key organised or I am also happy to meet you by arrangement.
You will find a welcome pack on your arrival, with eggs and milk.
There are lots of leaflets on where to go and walking maps of the local area. Any help or questions will be answered via text, email, or call.
We will be very happy to give you local information before and during your stay so that you can make the most of your time in this beautiful area.

NOTE: The cottage is AVAILABLE now to book.
Building work is going on at the back of the property, with 2 houses being built. You will be not over looked with this going on.
The works will be carried on MONDAY - FRIDAY 7.45am - 5pm
There could be possible noise.
The outlook of the countryside is to the front of the house. No windows is at the back of the building (apart from a glazed bathroom window)

When on holiday, usually, you will out and about! Plenty of places to visit!
NOTE: the cottage is for sale (on the market). I will put off viewings if there is a request, if you wish.
