Shandon is a great location, it is a pleasant, 30 minute walk along the canal to the Grassmarket, situated below Edinburgh Castle. It is on a direct bus route from Edinburgh airport (No35, 40 mins: £1.60). There is free street parking. Various regular bus options to and from city centre.

Quiet set of flats, quiet street/ suburb - some traffic noise.
Around corner from flat there is Margiotta's, a small grocery store for basic provisions, open till 10 pm.
Tea and Sympathy is new cafe nearby.
Please respect my property. Also keep noise in stairwell to a minimum in evenings out of respect to my neighbours.
I would appreciate it if you could leave your outdoor shoes on the rack in the stairwell or in the hall. Recycling for plastics, card etc in stairwell beside rack.
