Having seen a range of reviews, we were unsure of how Dar Tamo would be. After four days there, we would highly recommend it as base in Fes.
The Canopy Room is a little palace and served us brilliantly. The space is gorgeous and the terrace lovely for the evenings and breakfast. Looking at other reviews, I feel I should note that we stayed at the end of September when the weather was a lot cooler (though still hot) and therefore didn't trouble us, though there was AC in the room.
The medina is a nightmare to navigate but Dar Tamo - close to the Place Rcif - is not too hard to find using Maps.me (can't comment on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps) and one night the restaurant we were staying at sorted us out with a guide who walked us back.
Soundproofing, as a few have mentioned, is not in abundance and you can hear a lot of what's going on in the building, but this doesn't override your overall experience of the space.
The staff were lovely and extremely helpful - if you're into football, Hamza will be overjoyed to welcome you!
