Gorgeous rural cottage close to Longleat, Babington House, Center Parcs, Bath, Hauser & Wirth (Bruton), Wookey Hole, Stourhead, Stonehenge and Glastonbury. Peaceful village location, beautiful garden, fab views, horses for neighbours and it's heated and powered by solar and wood. Good for couples, friends, business travellers, and families.
The house itself is beautiful, it's tastefully decorated and furnished, and has a very peaceful, calm feeling, which really supports rest and relaxation. The views of the countryside are fab and horses peep over the fence, so if you're visiting from the city you'll really get that country hit. The beds are comfy and all bed linen is 100% cotton. There are three double beds + use of a mattress in the floor for a child. There's a village pub and a great local farm shop, which has an amazing food hall, exceptional fish and chip shop, gift shop, restaurant, play area + pets for kids. In the summer months you'll be able to help yourself to homegrown salad from the garden and in the winter you can enjoy chopping logs, making fires and filling the enormous Japanese style bath with lashings of hot water. You won't be disappointed!
The entire house is yours for the duration of your stay!

- This is our home, so please respect our space and our belongings. If something gets broken, please just let us know. More often than not it won't be any issue and can be easily rectified. The house is heated primarily by a large stove in the kitchen, which feeds the radiators around the rest of the house and keeps it toasty warm. We also have underfloor heating in the kitchen and a couple of electric heaters should you need them. But it's essential you understand that you can't just flick a switch to put the heating on. Same with the oven. Whilst we have an induction hob, if you want to roast/bake then you need to get the stove hot. You'll have to feed the stove regularly, but we'll leave plenty of chopped wood for you to use and clear instructions. The process is very simple and brings a sense of country charm. We love it and I promise you, once you've experienced the feel of solid heat and the smell of woodsmoke, there's no looking back! Please too, be mindful of our neighbours - they're lovely and we'd hate to upset them. Please resist the temptation and don't feed the horses.
Mmm, how to describe us. Daniel and I have been together for 20 years and have raised a composite family of five children. They've all flown the nest now, but come home regularly for rest and recuperation. We also have a three year old Grandson who we adore. I am a children's author and therapist, Daniel is a Trauma Therapist, and together we run Detox Retreats in Devon and personal retreats from home. We are lovely people (of course!) And hope when you meet us or stay in our beautiful home you'll agree!
