This 2 roomed converted cottage is located 10 kms from the picturesque town of Kinsale, it is 2km (15 min stroll down a quite country road) from the quirky village of Ballinspittle where there is an excellent cafe, a bakery, pub, shop, garage, and lovely new playground. There are 5 beautiful beaches within a 5 min drive of the cottage. We have ponies, donkeys, hens and an alpaca so its perfect for animal lovers. There is no wifi or TV - perfect for unwinding, escaping and enjoying the peace.
The cottage has an open plan kitchen/dining room, a bedroom and a small bathroom. There is a double bed in the bedroom and a sofa bed (small double) in the dining room. A travel cot is also available should you wish. Both the bedroom and kitchen dining room have sliding doors opening out on to a large decking area with seating. The decked area faces a field that is home to a few ponies and "podge" the alpaca. There is also a garden area with a pond to the side of the cottage.
Guests have access to the cottage, decking area, and garden with pond. Please note that the cottage is next to a farm shed - there will be vehicles coming and going and people working from this shed daily and as such there is strictly no access to this area. Our own home is the yellow house close by and you are welcome to wander up to us at any time. We have 3 friendly donkeys behind our house and you are welcome to have a look - just beware to the electric fence!

The quirky village of Ballinspittle is just 2kms (15mins walk) from the cottage, you can walk there down a quite country road - it's a lovely pretty walk on a summers eve. We have a torch and hi visibility jackets for those who would like to wander back from the pub after a few drinks. It has an excellent cafe, a pub, shop, petrol station, bakery, garage, art shop and an excellent playground. The award winning blue flag beaches of Garretstown and Garrylucas are a 5 min drive away where you can find a surf school, mobile sauna, kite surfing, shore fishing and a varity of mobile cafes/pizza vans/ crepe stalls during the summer months. We are spoilt for choice with beaches around here - Howe strand, Harbour view and Coolmain beaches are also 5 mins drive away.
Currently there is no wifi or TV in the cottage.
The sofabed in the kitchen/living space is slightly smaller than an average double bed - it may not be suitable for 2 larger adults together or very tall individuals.
The cottage looks over a field that is home to a few ponies and an alpaca, you are more than welcome to pet them but we would request that you do not feed them as they are prone to a painful condition of their feet that is caused by over feeding.
The cottage has a small pond in the garden that could be dangerous for small kids and due to the close proximity to the animals all children must be fully supervised by an adult when outside.
We would also prefer if you didn't smoke inside the cottage - there is a lovely bench outside where you can smoke if you like.
