Located in historic Peekskill, which is on the Hudson River, the house is steps away from the fabulous hiking trails of the Blue Mountain Reservation.
Danke Nancy
Such a perfect location, could not have had a better vacation spot. Nancy's home is beautiful, spacious, and filled with love and warmth. There are all the little touches that make it a home and not just a boring hotel room. The beds were comfortable, and with the fans and windows open to keep things nice and cool, we slept really well. The shower had excellent pressure and stayed hot through four showers, so top marks there. The location was exceptional. We walked over to fuhgeddaboudit deli for breakfast, and were able to just pop onto highway 9 to get down to Croton Park to spend the weekend enjoying the outdoors with friends. Will definitely be hoping to book here again next year. BTW, take the extra time if you're coming from the south to come in around Bear Mountain and get some gorgeous views. Makes for a much more scenic route.
Other than the Wi-Fi password long and tedious, we have no complaints. Our host, Nancy, met us on our arrival to orient us to the house and provide the key. She was available via phone as needed (none needed). We were attending a nearby folk festival, using the house as a base of operation. After breakfast at the house, the day was spent at the festival, returning only to unwind and go to sleep. As we were a couple and 1/2 we needed 2 bedrooms for everyone to be comfortable. This house met our needs.
I and three other friends had the pleasure of staying at Nancy's beautiful home. She was very flexible with check in, and showed us around the place before taking off. The neighborhood is quiet, but peekskill has a nice down town and is close to several pleasant hiking spots. I would certainly recommend this location to others looking to get out of the city for a night or two.
