À sumrin er iðandi og fjölbreytt fuglalíf í umhverfinu og kindur með lömbin á beit í nágrenninu. Auðvelt aðgengi er að húsinu og frí bílastæði. Annað gistihús er í nágrenninu.

Í íbúðinni er eldhúseining ásamt öllu sem þarf til einfaldrar eldunar, baðherbergi með sturtu og notalegum hita í gólfi. Út um glugga og frá palli er útsýni niður að Lagarfljóti og yfir græna grund. Bílastæði rétt utan við dyrnar og gott aðgengi að íbúðinni.
