Kamesei Ryokan is a family-run traditional onsen inn with mostly warm wood construction and gardens throughout. We are an American-Japanese couple that are happy to share our onsen town Togura-Kamiyamada with visitors curious about the Japanese countryside. You can relax wearing yukata robes in your private tatami mat rooms and enjoy the hot spring mineral baths rich in sulfur content. (The onsen baths are tattoo-friendly.) Our chef's creative kaiseki-style dinners are highly recommended.

It is a lodge-style house surrounded by forests and rivers, about 10 minutes by car from Kusatsu hot spring town. Children are safe because it's warm room with floor heating in winter. And we have a fitness gym in Kusatsu, there who wish can use it. It is very convenient to come by car ※ In the case of a train, if you tell me the place and time in advance, I will pick you up by car. “Maison d’hotes KIRISI MIZU”, is a Irimoya style (traditional Japanese house, similar to Temple) that has been beautifully restored from traditional materials and passed down from my grate-grand parents generation. The entire house is done in a classic style as used to be, except for a newly built kitchen, toilet and bathroom that provide all the necessities of modern life.
