Step into one of the oldest homes in town, dating from 1884. Curated by the owners of the design studio Reykjavík Trading Co., The Garden Cottage has been completely remodeled to provide a unique feeling, with a lot of the furniture handmade or meticulously crafted and selected from their travels to California, Scandinavia & Mexico. The land behind The Garden Cottage is home to their designed greenhouse, communal garden, chickens and their most recent addition, The Shed which is their workshop / shop where you can visit for a coffee, buy pieces or see their process of making objects. Curated by the owners & designers of Reykjavík Trading Co. (an Icelandic / California homeware company) the Garden Cottage is their first project of creating a home space for guests to experience a unique & cozy feeling while visiting Iceland. The bottom floor of the 1884 built home has been completely remodeled for guests. Everything in the home has been either made by hand by R.T.Co. or selected from their collection of preferred products & appliances. Anthony Bacigalupo & Ýr Káradóttir, the owners of The Garden Cottage, live & work in the separate upper part of the historic home & their R.T.Co. workshop is located in the back of the garden for guests to visit, learn about the pieces being crafted, or just to have a cup of coffee. We wanted to create a place for guests to experience "slow living" & create a special stay. Having designed spaces for hotels, cafes, bars we decided to put our inspiration & collection into this project & build something completely one-of-a-kind in Iceland. The home was built in 1884 & we have been remodeling & bringing back the style it once was but also bringing back the garden & farm style that was once so prominent back in the day. We believe in hospitality to the fullest which sadly doesn't exist anymore in places. Since we live on the property we can answer any questions you have or have you in for a coffee if you need help deciding your journey in Iceland. The cottage is in the oldest part of Hafnarfjörður, a small harbor town. There are great farm-to-table restaurants, bakeries, live music, artist studios and swimming pools nearby. It’s conveniently located across the road from the town’s bus terminal. The house has three stories but is broken into two flats- we live on the upper floors with our children with separate driveway and front door- but we are here for anything you need or to have a coffee in the greenhouse! Our little town can be easily walked around & explored. Shuttle stops for airport & Blue Lagoon are 3 minutes walk next to the ocean & the bus terminal into Reykjavík is close as well.

Under mountain Esja, Kjalarnes. A peaceful place.

Kirkjuland is a small farm just 10km north of Reykjavik, on Kjalarnes. Located under the beautiful mountain Esja. Peaceful and cozy.. We can host 2 persons at our facility. Fantastic view over the Reykjavik area. We are close to many beautiful places you would want to visit; like Thingvellir national park, Glymur the highest waterfall in Iceland, Húsafell , Krauma, Giljaböð natural bath places, etc. All photos of the northern lights taken in our garden! Hraðastaðir Horse riding & Farm

Studio apartment located on a farm only 20 minutes from Reykjavík!:) on the way to the golden circle which offers room for two people. Come and stay at our farm and visit our wonderful animals and/or get fresh egg from our chickens in the morning to cook in the apartment. There are also fun experiences around our farm such as a lot of beautiful hiking trails, horse riding and more. It's a very good location to plan day trips from. If there are northern lights you can see right outside the door.

Cosy appartment in a quiet neighborhood in Mosfellsbær. Many great walking trail and hike. Short from great nature and green area. Lágafellslaug is very popular swimmingpool its so nice to relax in a hot tip. Short from golfcourse by the sea side. Grocery store 900 meters away. One the best bakery in Iceland is also 900 meters away. Center of Reykjavík is 11 km away, you can take bus to Reykjavík no 15, it stops 2 min walk from us. Thingvellir National Park is ca. 30 min drive from Mosfellsbær.

The Old Barn – Special place in spectacular nature

The farm is settled in the most beautiful scenery you can imagine. Powerful mountains all around, sound of the fresh salmon-river, waterfall in the breath taking canyon. Aurora Borealis from your window, when the conditions are right. Great for getting away. Relax or be creative. Mindful hiking in the untouched nature and enjoy farm live. Middle of nowhere, and yet it is only 22 km. drive from Reykjavik City Center. Many points of interest are within easy reach like the Golden Circle, 2 min.

Close to beautiful water and beautiful hiking trails. Whether it's spring, summer, autumn or winter, this beautiful location is an experience.

Gunnu Hús by Meðalfellsvatn ( Our lakeside cottage nestles at the foot of Medalfell mountain and the garden leads right down to the lake. The views are spectacular, of the lake and its surrounding mountain scape; it is a place of pure tranquility. It has 3 bedrooms and an open plan kitchen and sitting room. It has a large double bedroom, and small double bedroom and a room with a bunk bed. It is well known and often listed as one of the most scenic and lovely summer cottages in Iceland.
